Zatoichi had a hardcover book and it looks like this box may actually be similar to that one. Not as long, but longer than a standard box set release.

Edit: Thought this has been added in here already

Are there any pack shots of the Whit Stillman trilogy?

Great covers this month. Almost a sad thing that I already own the Cronos and Devil`s Backbone releases but that GDT trilogy looks like it`s going to be a great set!

I rarely chime in about cover art, but I thought the Boyhood cover-art is quite apt in terms of a concept, especially since it's able to easily covey the themes and fascinations of the movie.

Also, I'm fully supportive of Criterion continuing to hire artists like Francavilla, Noto, and Cloonan to provide artwork for covers.

Just noticed that they moved the fly on the Short Cuts cover so it could sit comfortably on the wacky "c" - cute!

For some reason I thought Chimes was going to be a digipak.

detail from the criterion collection of the 5-disk DVD box.
So I'd guess the Blu is going to be a three disc set.

Kind of feel that the Janus poster for Blood Simple would have made a better cover.

Punch-Drunk Love, I believe, is the second cover this year to show the last shot of a movie (besides The Emigrants)

Lone Wolf looks great, One Eyed Jacks is negligible, the other two are awful

I can't get over how bad that Squid and the Whale cover is

One-Eyed Jacks looks excellent, and Lone Wolf and Cub is very good too. Dreams is a little too simple for its own good, but I think there's something elegant about it.

And it pains me to say this but Punch-Drunk Love will be a contender for Worst Cover this year.

I'll be the contrarian and say the Punch-Drunk Love cover is great, easily the best this month. Because I believe it, and because the other covers are pretty woeful.

I think they are all really good.

Except Lone Wolf and Cub. Terrible concept and worse color scheme.

The cover for The Squid And The Whale is pretty atrocious, but I like the one for Punch Drunk Love, especially the hue around the title.

Dream's is one of Kurosawa's paintings (I think it is a storyboard for the film.)
