Same Kind of Different as Me (Michael Carney, 2017)

#1 Post by mfunk9786 »

This is the funniest fucking movie trailer I've ever seen, and I am astonished that it is an actual thing that exists in this day and age. Allow me to present: Same Kind of Different as Me.

Trailers for Upcoming Films

Unbelievable, it's like a checklist. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find that kind of dreck even on Lifetime. The Brad Paisley song really brings it home. Also, Jon Voight plays himself?

Jeez, sorry. I guess we're not all the same kind of different. You may carry me away, but before you do, know that I have attempted to atone for my grave error by wiping the offending post clean.

Sounds like all of you could use to "discover the power of friendship." Geez!

And unfortunately I can no longer shut off the Tapatalk signature site wide. It's an individual user setting.

I know her looks have been discussed to death in the past couple of years, but I genuinely didn't realise that was Renee Zellweger until her name popped up at the end.

Neither did I. I thought it was Lauren Graham. The trailer brought back memories of The Blind Side - an incredibly lazy take on The Blind Side.

Has Kinnear done anything interesting since the 90's?

I'll go in and add Little Miss Sunshine before someone else does. I also liked The Matador, but more for Pierce Brosnan.

I suspect I'm an island here but I like Fast Food Nation (although Kinnear's parts in that are my least favorite parts of the movie).

And going back to Little Miss Sunshine, he was good but it seemed like everyone short of Toni Collette stole the film right from him during his scenes. I only remember him standing out in the scenes with Cranston and Dean Norris.

Oh man, I really like Djimon Hounsou, and he never seems to get anything better than bad guy number two, but what a horrible vehicle to get stuck in. I wonder if this looked like potential awards bait on paper?

I watched that in it's theatrical release, and thought I remembered all of it until just now. I would have sworn remembering Brendan Gleeson as the bad guy.

Kinnear has a nice cameo in the third season of BoJack Horseman.

This takedown was kinda funny:
Stuart Heritage wrote:Eventually Hounsou borrows a suit, goes to church and teaches the community an absolutely meaningless life lesson. “Whether we is rich or poor, we is all homeless” he says in his ridiculous Jar Jar Binks voice, finally completing his transformation into Magical Negro figure. God, I hate this film so much. I want to set it on fire. I want to kick it to splinters in front of its crying children. I want to drown it in a bucket of horse diarrhoea. This is the worst, most offensive thing I have ever seen.

It's really not fair or accurate for the author to say they hate the film when really they hate the film trailer

Nothing about the existence of this thread is fair.
