Loading/creating basic web-pages with production info is exactly the kind of boring administrative work that interns perform in most companies.

The climax of that film is Robert De Niro assembling a team to break into Anne Hathaway's mother's house to delete an email. Just feel the need to share this.

Do the newer editions of Silence of the Lambs retain the original theatrical font for the various location titles appearing in typewriter text on the screen (such as the opening "Woods near Quantico, Va" one), or are they still player generated? I remember the first DVD that MGM put out in the UK replaced those titles with just the standard player generated removable subtitles (though perhaps that was just MGM's standard practice for Region 2 discs, where they'd swap out location titles for ones in a particular European language. I remember Ronin having the same issue too, for example).

MGM did this in R1 as well; to my knowledge it's true of Silence plus Annie Hall (famously ruining a crucial gag) and I'm sure a great number of others.

Another possibility is The Miracle Worker; Grosbard was an assistant director on the film and there's already a phantom page for Arthur Penn. But Straight Time seems more likely to be the best guess.

Actually, I bet you're right in the first part, and the Miracle Worker is a better film than any other Grosbard film lobbed out

Straight Time is one of the absolute masterpieces of American crime cinema of the 70s and a film I reflect on a lot. It gets the attitude of blue collar natives of Los Angeles better than most Los Angeles set films, partly in thanks to Eddie Bunker ear for street dialogue. I don't know much about Grosband as a director beyond this film, but its worth mentioning he was the original director for the Broadway production of David Mamet's American Buffalo.

Re: Ulu Grosbard. Straight Time goes up on FilmStruck on August 1.

Regarding an earlier pair of names (Tom Brown, Daniel Gray) , the short animated film Teeth, narrated by Richard Grant, will also be appearing on FilmStruck this month. I believe they are showing it in conjunction with How To Get Ahead In Advertising, so not sure whether that one is being rescued from OOP-land, with Teeth as a new supplement.

The reviews for How To Get Ahead In Advertising have been generally horrible, and I purposely avoided picking it up in the twin-pack from Arrow when I bought Withnail & I, but it is already a spine in the Collection. and I suspect it will be re-added when Withnail & I gets brought back. Even Homer sometimes nods.

It's a great movie, which I may even prefer to Withnail & I. I don't really know where you've gotten the idea that it's got an especially poor reputation, though, or why on Earth you'd go out of your way to not see the movie. (Or having its title styled like that)

He's just underlining the obvious pun in the title

When a film is described in various places as "sour", "mean-spirited", "bludgeoning", I don't particularly want it permanently attached to a film I did want in my collection -- unremovable, like a pus-filled second head. I didn't say I would never see it. I just didn't want to buy it in a form where I couldn't get rid of it easily if I hated it.

I prefer Advertising to Withnail, too. The opening monologue in the former is a bravura performance from Richard E. Grant, and one of my favourite scenes ever.

Regarding Ulu Grossbard, could it possibly be another film he made that WB owns, The Subject Was Roses? The play and film were breakouts for both Grossbard and Martin Sheen.
