Man, those are two films I figured were already out years ago and rotting away in Wal-Mart bins across the country

I've always loved the sequence in Real Genius involving the teacher and the tape recorders. Wish these MODs were more like wal-mart blu bins.

My favorite thing about Real Genius is, how did the producers look at Vilmos Zsigmond's incredible run from McCabe and Mrs. Miller through Heaven's Gate and Blow-Out and think "This is the kind of vision and style we need behind our movie about dorm room hijinks that climaxes with a house bursting at the seams with out-of-control popcorn"?

It's def a top tier 80s teen com and much better than it needed to be. Hopefully Indicator puts it out

Nice - not a fan of burn-on-demand, but then again I didn't think this would be available as a BD anytime soon (if ever). It's actually my favorite Capra film by a good margin.

I was hoping that Criterion might have picked this up, but I guess this is better than nothing.

Here's hoping one of the UK labels picks it up.

Someone on the Blu-ray forum emailed Indicator and they said they'd look into the availability, so that's promising. The popularity of this film on the forum and elsewhere is so bizarre to me, but I don't begrudge any film enough to wish it BD-R ghettoization

The Virgin Suicides announcement had me wondering: has anyone watched the MOD Marie Antoinette, or compared it to the French release? I remember in a post someone saying these MOD releases will have a short life: is that the equivalent of the how now brown blu ray?

edit: adding to this post the blu-ray.com review of Marie Antoinette. http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Marie-Ant ... u-ray/286/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Marie Antoinette is being released in Australia on Blu Ray in February 2018:

Welcome to the Dollhouse getting the BD-R treatment next month... I refuse to believe none of the boutique labels wanted this, but I'd say the same about Marie Antoinette so

That’s just bizarre. Dollhouse seemed like an obvious Criterion pick-up.

Rather unbelievable, but it appears Sony is releasing True Romance as a MOD disc in September. So hang on to your old WB blu-ray.

Battle in Outer Space was previously released by Sony in a super cheap three pack of Toho sci-fi films. But where's Mothra?!

Jim Belushi's the Principal also coming. So a slate of things people would want on real Blu-rays and things no one was asking for on any platform

Hopefully they licensed Mothra to Criterion for their Showa Godzilla set.

The artwork for these is using the Blu-Ray logo, so you may be right. Not getting my hopes up (and really only interested in the Rider from this slate)

It's pretty fun too though probably works best in a pack.

I'll be sticking with my DVD in that case.
