I never knew that was Richard Fleischer, but now I think I know why he's not inducted into the Masters of Cinema series.

Shame about the film, though.

To be fair, Fleischer followed up the debacle of Doctor Dolittle with some of his most adventurous work. John Gregory Dunne's book The Studio, which takes a "new journalism" approach to the workings of 20th Century Fox in this key period, offers some insight to Fleicher's career at this point.

Over the weekend, TT posted at the Home Theater Forum that they are done with MGM/UA titles

...plus the most important thing, which is the quality of that studio's masters are way below the others in regard to their readiness for blu-ray - they also pressure us to release too many all at once , and we prefer a more manageable pace - so this December's slate represents the last of MGM/UA as far as we're concerned.

... why do they carry a bunch of Fox UHDs on the Twilight Time store?

I don't know if this normally happens, but there appear to be a small handful of films that are shown as being available on the Screen Archives site that are no longer available on the Twilight Time site:The Purple Rose of Cairo, The Last Detail, and Zardoz, for example, are listed as part of the $14.95 category in the Screen Archives notice, but not in the Twilight Time one. Any others I'm missing?
