Why is every new American independent film shot in the extra wide format?

Judging by that trailer, it’s to fit as much insufferable nonsense on the screen as possible

Ingrid was very smart in the ways it depicted the effects of social media and how instagram culture works. I'd go as far as to say it's way ahead of its time and if this was a different time I'd put money on it being a film having a second life on cable. The couple of things I read about it were positive and I suspect anything negative comes largely from not understanding social media dynamics.

I liked this film a lot. Well observed and very funny in places but it also doesn't shy away from the emotional pain Ingrid and others in the film go through. Excellent music too. #iamingrid
