So we can't be excited about the introduction of Pialat, just cry about something that's not an established art film classic and has been on the radar for years. Color me surprised.
I'm pretting much assuming 336 is Dazed and Confused since I'm still assuming these releases are for June, and if Criterion was REALLY smart they would release the DVD right when school got out in early June, just so it could coincide with real time. Just a thought...
I expect Spine #336 is going to be "Dazed and Confused." A rumor going round was that the cover was going to be a variation on the original poster art for the film (which you can see on the inner sleeve of Universal's "Flashback Edition" release), but done up with black-light ink. Maybe that hasn't been finallized yet.
"A nos Amours" is a little simple for my taste, and "Equinox" looks a tad unfinished (if still cool).
Every year for the past five years (that I've seen) someone has made this comment and there has never been an April Fools joke made by Criterion. Can we please just let this theory die?

Equinox discussion dates back since before my first post (not that that'll be a chronological landmark for anyone else). A nos amours has been known for a couple months now, including a Spine #0 glitch... and for what it's worth, I think both of those covers are tops. I like the unframed photo style on A nos amours a great deal. It presents a sense of "french art film" austerity, but gives it a sleek, modern sheen.

3.) Distinct Possibilities: (Titles that haven't been officially confirmed yet but have either been mentioned by Criterion or linked to Criterion by other events/companies)
EQUINOX (1970, Jack Woods & Dennis Muren) - mentioned in an HTF chat in 2001, and again by Mulvaney in March 2003 as "upcoming"

I like it but when you first saw it didn't you, for a second, think that she had the arm of a 300-pound woman? And doesn't the shadow on her upper lip look like she's sporting a bad, teenage moustache?

Anyone have a visual of the original poster art shown on the "Flashback Edition"?

i never thought I'd agree with a dead model-cum-bounty hunter, but stranger things have happened on this forum. That cover is gorgeous.
