Wasn't there a winter sale recently, though? I hope there are still some sales throughout the year, because I don't really want to pay $20 per title.

Yeah, I'd expect there'll still be a Summer sale and a Winter sale, and probably a black Friday-ish one. It'd not surprise me if due to the new site's different shipping requirements/point allocations if the sales are slightly less popular then they were elsewhere, though.

I'm hoping they do another HMV offer soon. Filled in a lot of blanks on the Arrow Video side of things in the last one - but was a little peeved about inclusion of titles like Raising Cain and Pulse, which were only released a month or two before the offer and which I had pre-ordered for full price.

They've only done one Arrow Academy offer at HMV - £7.99 a title - but haven't done one since. Only in Fopp, for £6 a title (I asked a couple of people to buy me some and post them to me). Still, both are cheaper than their own sales via their new store. From memory they charge shipping now where they didn't before, and no longer award points on sale items. Plus the store is somehow actually more frustrating to use!

I contacted Arrow a few days ago, and they responded with this email:
We should well have something in the not too distant future for you all but we can’t confirm any details at the moment unfortunately.
So, we know something is coming soon but probably not until May or after. Nice to have confirmation on this, though.

Arrow's now tweeted about a Flash Sale, beginning tomorrow and lasting the weekend. The Academy ad shows Eight Hours Don't Make a Day and the Rohmer Collection...

Thanks for the heads-up. Is there any disadvantage to using rewards points during this sale?

Nope - the one positive change w/r/t points in the new site is you can use them on sale items for the full 100 points = £1 value.

Great - that's what I thought. So no more points are half value on sale items.

Sale prices are now live on the Arrow website; even though there isn't a direct link for items on sale yet, Here are prices sorted by high-to-low. (Because I assume that's what most are looking for).

Unlike the last sale, it looks like the sale prices also now appear in your wishlist. Very helpful!

I regret springing for the Rohmer set on Amazon in January. It's still sitting on the shelf, unopened, and it cost $12-13 more.

Those of us with massive Kevyips do not sympathize.

This is definitely live and swinging now. I guess they meant 1200 BST and not GMT.

Looks a decent sale. Le Amour Fou, Tout va bien, The Love of a Woman and Spotlight on a Murderer all stand out at £7.50. Shipping for the four at less than a quid seems good!

Nearly bit on Eight Hours... but it's cheaper at Zavvi with a 10% off code.

How worthy is the book on Meiko Kaji? Also what are the chances the Jissoji box will be available on sale next time?

I found the Kaji book quite interesting and relatively dense for its size and price. At £7.5, I'd say it's a good purchase.

Wow, the Phantasm box is 70% off. Now that's a deal! And with shipping the Romero box just cracks $50 - my vote for one of Arrow's best box sets btw.

Bought Diamond Guys 2 with points (though it's stupid shipping isn't included). I'm still curious weather the Jissoji will make it through to be going on sale. Nothing pisses me off more than to see all the expensive LE I could have waited on to become cheaper...

Especially when you still haven't watched them by the time they do go on sale.

I'm saving the Rohmer set, which I received just before Christmas, for my vacation. In early July. It'll be on its second sale by then.

On an indirectly related note, it looks like Arrow's webstore architecture has received some small tweaks. You can now expand the sections beyond 24 titles per page (you can now also have 60 or all) and the wishlist now allows for directly put a product to your basket (instead of having to go back to the product page and THEN put it in the basket).

I still miss the product status being visible on the wishlist (so you could know in just one page what is in stock and what isn't), and there are probably 1 or 2 other stuff that could be better but otherwise, it seems indeed way smoother than during the launch period, and these few tweaks are going in the right direction too.
