Hehe, was suggesting this one to Second Run about two years ago. Brought it up again recently when it was announced as part of the Mayhem Film Festival lineup, where our own MichaelB confirmed Second Run didn't get it but another label did.

Glad it went to a good home! Can't wait to see this one.

They dropped the ball by not releasing a movie about magic reindeer in December.

Fantastic! It's one of the best looking B&W winter film there is, and a great film. I'm buying it.

oh, this film is spectacular and one-of-a-kind. is the version that'll be on here the same transfer that's already on the Finnish blu-ray?

Can’t see why it wouldn’t be. Are there even two HD masters out there?

Before The White Reindeer Erik Blomberg was involved as a cinematographer and a producer along with Michael Powell in a Lapland-themed melodrama (a Finnish-UK co-production) Aila, Pohjolan tytär / Arctic Fury (Jack Witikka, 1951), Mirjami Kuosmanen in the leading role as well. It has never been shown on TV here. In November VLMedia will release it on DVD but no English subs unfortunately. How about it Eureka, a potential extra for your forthcoming release?

Screening at the Close-Up Film Centre next month, as part of their season of classic Finnish cinema that looks unmissable for anyone in the area.

Happy to see that Kaisa’s Enchanted Forest was part of the selection. By far one of the best Finnish movies of this century and a really nice complementary piece for The White Reindeer.
