"Threatened with cease and desist letters" and "exploiting rights" are just legal terms suggesting that BU is acting as though they have a contract stipulating that they still have exclusive rights

If it were down to Italian rights-holder, the UK release may also have an issue? And it doesn't seem to...

If the other reviews published before the official statement are anything to go by, the review is likely to be pulled offline (like blu-ray.com's one).

Why would they pull the review? Recalled or not, the disc exists

Yet, that's what happened at least with blu-ray.com's review (which led some people think this issue was a technical one), and I don't see why blu-ray.com would have taken it down without being asked to.
But I agree with you and don't understand especially why a review would be considered an issue, but I don't know the extend of the rights issues they might be facing.

If it is pulled forever, let’s hope it gets online in some other way.

The review is back up on Beaver. Looks like a great disc so hopefully gets worked out.

The review is only for Texas Adios, which has no right issues and is available with no interruption since its release.

Which uses a BD-R 50 and has DD 2.0 English sound only, but it's interesting to see they got hold of the Arrow 4K resto (since it's even the same color grading).

Curiously, the Amazon listings for Cult Films' upcoming UK release of Django - as well as the triple set featuring Django, A Bullet for the General and Keoma - have been pulled from sale. I wonder if they were trying to get the Arrow masters too, or alternatively Arrow asked if they could sell them the rights? Something odd going on with these titles nevertheless.

In their facebook post about the hold on Alice, Sweet Alice, DiabolikDVD were asked about Django and they said
As far as I know BU will be releasing it in the future and the arrow version is dead.

I'd never looked at this thread and had no idea that this release was pulled. So are my copies of the Arrow box set / steelbook now incredibly valuable?

I'm "almost" glad I only paid $130 for the steelbook.
Well, you can't always win, I guess.

The listing has been taken off the Arrow section of MVD's site. And if you go to the page it now, once again, says "ON HOLD BLUE RAY" with a release date of 12/31/20.
