Robert Zemeckis is set to direct an adaptation of Marwencol, which was distributed by Cinema Guild.

(For the record, I didn't get the post, either, until I Googled "cinema guild robert zemeckis")

It happened the same day I posted the story about Zemeckis' Marwencol deal, I think he just posted it in the wrong thread

I assumed he was drawing a correlation between Hobel's death and this.

Which is a reasonable and mature thing to do, for sure.

And of course you of all people should be the decider of maturity. Had I known my little joke would become a cow tools I'd have never made it. I was just joking on the coincidence that he'd die the same day a film his company distributed was announced for remake.

This now stars Steve Carell as the doll player and opens in November in prime Oscar season

And I can't imagine giving it the time it would take to sit through it.

Is Zemeckis planning to remake all documentaries?

Recent Oscar ceremony sensation Eiza González is also in this, as are Diane Kruger, Leslie Mann, Merritt Weaver, and Janelle Monae

The Walk was maybe the most criminally underseen big budget movie of the last few years, but goddamn this looks rough. I'm glad Zemeckis enjoyed his screening of Anomalisa, though.

Very smart for the studio to change the title in this climate, I wondered if they would

I wonder if they’re hiding the cross dressing stuff or just excising it altogether. Even as true life that part of the doc was odd, for a complete lack of a better term.

I imagine marketing would excise it for reasons obvious to many of us. But excising it from the story all together? I can't imagine them doing so in this day and age unless they're truly looking for an outcry. But then again who knows?

Absolutely shocking that no one wanted to go see this. Shocking.
