Holy shit, that cast! I can't wait to see what Carruth does with the budget that cast will net him

Despite the cast, Carruth's film still hasn't managed to get off the ground according to Tom Holland. A 200 page script probably didn't assuage investors

News is some months old, but "it’s not gonna happen anytime soon" anyway

Such a shame. Surprised he hasn’t tried going to Blumhouse yet (not for this, obv, but perhaps one of his other in-progress projects), since they’d have no prob signing over $5 million and just think what he could do with that much money after achieving great results with far, far less

If the glowing blue pyramid (Shane Carruth) has not made another doorknob (film), it's because you don't truly need it yet. You would potentially misuse the doorknob (film). When you are truly in need of another glowing blue pyramid doorknob (a Shane Carruth film) it will appear. Be ready.

You gotta wonder, even in the days when streaming services have money to burn, 14 million cannot be obtained for an auteur project.

Carruth has made public the 180-page script for The Modern Ocean. Does this mean the film is officially not going to happen? (I mean, the likelihood was low before, but now...)

He's been interviewed recently about giving up filmmaking and focusing on helping other filmmakers, regarding his participation in The Wanting Mare. From reading that interview, he's still bitter and seemingly had no interest in continuing to try to get a film of this magnitude made, at least as the sole creative visionary.
