The Koker Trilogy artwork is indeed great, understated but beautiful.

Blue Velvet's front cover uses a metallic ink for the blacks so there's a cool little effect when you shift it in the light.

I was ok with the Blue Velvet cover to begin with, but realizing that removing the digipack cover kind of evokes pulling back a curtain makes it a bit more clever to me. I like it.

Well, only if the DVD box set doesn't have the number on the fourth disc. Anybody know if that's the case or not?

*shrug*, they did the same thing to the cassavetes set to zero outcry, I don't see the problem here either.

In the DVD set Ingmar Bergman Makes a Movie is its own disc and has a spine number of 212. It's found on the disc for Winter Light in the Blu-ray set.

Cassavetes set assigned 256 to A Constant Forge for the DVD set. It is found on the disc for Shadows in the Blu-ray set.

Fanny and Alexander's Blu-ray release had all four spine numbers collapsed down to one: 261.

This is also true for the BD releases of Grey Gardens / The Beales of Grey Gardens, and The Seventh Seal / Bergman Island. I'm sure there are another few as well.

They exist and a person for whom those numbers are terribly important can just get the dvd and have the precious possession of the numbers. :-p

I half seriously hope that the koker numbering conundrum indicates they’re just going to stop numbering box set shells altogether going forward.

They should prolong hitting the 1000th spine by reassigning these missing box set numbers for whatever is left to release at the end of the year. Would absolutely make no sense but that makes it even funnier.

Yes, I was hoping and was sure for no particular reason War and Peace would be a digipak. Would’ve been great to see some more of those beautiful watercolor drawings.

Polyester is probably my favorite of the year so far. Cluny Brown is undoubtedly the worst. I wish they had done something more with The Cloud Capped Star, I know that's the films most ubiquitous image, but it just seems rather bland. Overall a good month though in terms of releases.

I won't restate the obvious, but is everyone fine with The Circus? It's not awful, but I don't think it's very good either. Polyester and Local Hero are great though
