I just wish Matt Frank could have done something, too.

Yeah, wow, this is absolutely stunning. Is October the best month for packaging in ages?

That is a gorgeous set of covers. I'm also glad that only one decided to go memey.

Eric Skillman tweeted that the book is 10.7 x 14.4". No word on page count.

Not to stay on brand, but... these covers are fine, I guess, in that there's nothing wrong with them, but they certainly don't fill me with a driving need to possess the box containing them. Competent comic art like this is hardly in short supply, and the garish coloring would not be my chosen palette either

The original leaker of such details indicated it was "32 page booklet with DVDs", "spine 1 E+3".

The more I look at these, the more I like them. I'm especially enamored with Godzilla Raids Again, Ghidorah, Ebirah, Destroy All Monsters, Hedorah, and the front cover. I'm not usually a fan of covers like these but they fit here.

Will all these covers even be included in the package? I know Criterion tends to create individual covers for every film in a book style boxset for their website (Bergman, Zatoichi) but those covers aren’t always physically printed with the product.

These “covers” are actually the illustration accompanying the opposite page of the essay for each film in the book, according to the packaging pix

Did they alter the cover and make it more blue?

I had issues taking the picture and had to give up, but the blues in the last photo are closer to what the finished package looks like.

I kind of figured it would have cut outs. Will probably be half an inch deeper than standard box sets

Cool! Eric Skillman said on twitter when it was announced that he had been allowed to do this one with die cuts. Can’t wait to see more detailed shots!

Gorgeous, and reminiscent of the Factory Records, Peter Saville designed albums of The Durutti Column circa 1985.

I'll get better photos up on this site but for now I posted these phone pics of The Koker Trilogy to Facebook. You don't need an account.

The Green Tea release is surely Criterion's most lovely Ozu release design-wise.
