Just wanna jump in to this cover’s defense. I actually looooove it, particularly as an inversion of Criterion’s now iconic all type design. This was even done by CC regular Sam Smith (House, Something Wild). Wish they were doing more original pieces like this.

This is not a bad cover, like at all. It's very purposefully done in the pop cartoon style of the era in which it was made
