Soderbergh loves Yes!

Just noticed this today, but Soderbergh's first film was manning the directorial chair for a Yes concert now on DVD.

I'm intrigued by the extra, Soderbergh's "demo" mockumentary Access All Areas. Has anyone seen it?

He won a Grammy for it, and the money he made from it went towards the budget of Winston, which was made to attract investors for Sex, Lies & Videotape. I'm a moderate Yes fan, but this wasn't my favorite period of the band although some songs they did were pretty good.

I dunno, I've never liked Yes's albums after Fragile. I'm not a big prog fan, though, so whatever.

I picked this up, because I'm a big Soderbergh devotee. Yes are a band I'm indifferent on, but I was a big fan of Access All Areas. It felt like a true life Schizopolis, in that it feels like you don't know what is going to happen next. I don't consider myself a Yes fan, but in my opinion, Access All Areas was worth the price of the disc alone. (Then again I liked Full Frontal, Solaris, and his Eros segment, so I'm biased)

Saw it on Netflix Instant awhile ago. The concert footage itself looks great, not so crazy about the music video stuff added in. Worse still, it was recorded in mono. Their earlier concert film YesSongs is in mono too, which is sort of acceptable but concert films by then were already in stereo. One from 1984/5 is otherwise mind-boggling.
