Great to have it back.

While the sign-in and Disable Edition Finder works again, it looks like page size customization and the "one pager mode" still don't work. If he is able to take a look at those features as well it seems the site will finally be back to full working status.

Also, longer/new IMDB listings are still rejected.

Technically this would require an update to the submission field that has never been available before, as imdb #'s were always 7 digits until recently. A revision of this field to allow for 8-digit numbers would definitely be appreciated.

This also reminds me that amazon and imdb links had been broken and are now fixed, so kudos for that glitch being corrected as well.

I've asked if he can do anything about this as well as the limits on the number of characters allowed in the title and number of directors (currently capped at 20) for new title submissions

EDIT: Though he says he has to run everything by the site's owners (obviously) so it's not like I have free reign here

with DVD profiler not really working for me, is there a way to import a collection list CSV export from dvd profiler to other catalog software?

FilmAF won't save my layout choices - Disable Edition Finder, increase number of titles per page beyond 50, or anything in the Search Preferences window - if I leave and then return. Also, all picture links are broken in the Recently Approved Submissions and Managing Pictures windows.

Yeah, I had noted that about the search preferences. Where is the option to increase the number of titles per page? And what does disable edition finder do? I've never used that.

When you hover your mouse over a title there will be a pop-up window of a larger pic for that title where you can also access other versions. Clicking "Disable Edition Finder" prevents the pop-ups so that hovering your mouse over a title doesn't have them.

This was broken since the start of the year, alongside the # of titles per page customization and "one pager" mode. While page size customization and "one pager" mode are still broken one can click on "Disable Edition Finder" again and prevent the pop-ups.

I can "survive" without page size customization, bit "One Pager" is the most important fix to come because it's how one accesses sections such as title sorting overwriting and star ratings, something I've always used extensively (to have Criterions ordered by Spine #, for example, instead of the default of alphabetically).

EDIT: And just as I finished typing that it appears both page customization and one pager mode are fixed. (At least in Firefox).

This calls for a celebration.

On the upper left of each collection page, it says 'Showing 1-50' of however many titles you have, with a little half-triangle shaped icon (which I guess is supposed to look like an upward chart) next to it. If you click on the icon, you can adjust your Preferred page size up to 500.

For me in Firefox, one pager mode works and also 'disable edition finder'.

What is still not working is the saving of particular customisable options such as displaying BD/DVDs instead of Film/Titles (see right most drop down box), saving of "Search Preferences" options like selecting all region instead of just US, multiple search criteria, 'flip exclude mine and include mine'.

Also please extend a massive thank you to your friend, this is really much appreciated :)

swo, just a follow up from my above post, I assume your friend has been implementing the things I mentioned as at least in Firefox (although not Safari) I can use the Search Preferences again as of yesterday.

But even in Firefox the options do not save and reset on each visit to the page. If you could pass that on, that would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately the owners still haven't addressed (or even commented on) any of the continuing issues - disabling Edition Finder, increasing the number of titles per page beyond 50, saving anything in the Search Preferences window, fixing broken picture links - either on that github page or on Facebook.

I just checked in with him and he said he's slowly working on it. He says the code is ancient and there's a learning curve there (ideally they'd replace it with a brand new site design, but presumably there's no money for that?) So far he's mostly helped people with restoring their logins, and is currently looking into recognizing release dates past 2020 and IMDb codes longer than 7 digits

Well, that's unfortunate, but understandable after the new owner's tragic passing.

My friend is backing up the database and has talked about the possibility of setting up a new website. I don't personally have any experience with this or time to deal with it right now but if anyone reading this is interested I could connect you

Not even that long. This was posted on FB yesterday:
We apologize for not getting in touch with you lately about the login problems, but there is something you need to know.

We are in the process of transferring the FilmAf account. Because of this, the current FilmAf server will be discontinued.

We recommend exporting or saving your collections now.

We apologize for not saying something sooner.

Will we be back? We'll let you know.
I wish they had at least approved the 8 submissions I made 4 days ago before shutting things down, but, really, nothing has gone right for them the last year.
