David Mackenzie: Compression Hero

No - he'd barely even entered the encoding business back then.

He's only done a handful of SC discs - off the top of my head, The Elephant Man, Don't Look Now, Angel Heart and Flash Gordon in 4K, plus Mulholland Dr. and I'm All Right Jack on BD, possibly a few more but certainly not many.

How comprehensive is this listing?

He's authored literally every Indicator release, so I'm going with "not very".

Not very.

edit: MichaelB beat me to it. He did a lot of Arrow's 2014-2017 output too.

So is there a comprehensive listing somewhere? That would be nice to have

I have asked previously at bluray.com's forums but never got a reply.

It would be very nice to have as he also does work for BFI (occasionally), Eureka (again occasionally), Synapse and Mondo Macabro etc so it's hard to keep up.

Did he work on the U.S. 4K release of Christine or only the Carlotta? And what are the odds of Indicator putting out a UHD edition?

I thought he personally told me once that he had offered his services to Second Run. Nothing ever came to fruition from that?

Only the Carlotta, he has not done any work for major studios like Sony (Studio Canal being the exception every now and then).

Most of the Second Run titles I own on blu are authored by Silversun. I think David did a number of the DVD titles though.

You can also include all of Mondo Vision’s releases.

Man, if there's one label that need to change authoring houses, it's Second Run.

I've seen worse (believe it or not), but it clearly could/should be improved indeed.

Does anyone care to maintain a master list in the first post of this thread?
