Re: Chadwick Boseman (1977-2020)
It’s fair if you don’t wish to continue as it’s undoubtedly an emotional charged question due to the recency of his death. I will say that I find upon reflection my response to you is a poor presentation of my point. Rather I should have pointed out that you are showing the mitigating circumstances which highlight why he faced a difficult situation whereas I was merely talking about if his actions were responsible or not. I retract the lesser in stature part of my statement since that’s irrelevant and only serves to pain emotions when addressed to a particular person.

It's actually illegal in France to ask that during a job interview.DarkImbecile wrote:That must be why all women are required to let potential employers know if they are or are planning to become pregnant during a job interview.

That might be one way to secure a job... or at least a call-back interview.DarkImbecile wrote: planning to become pregnant during a job interview.

In the UK, it's illegal to refuse a job to someone because they're pregnant or planning to be, as that would be directly in breach of the section on Sex Discrimination in the 2010 Equality Act.tenia wrote: Thu Sep 03, 2020 7:40 amIt's actually illegal in France to ask that during a job interview.DarkImbecile wrote:That must be why all women are required to let potential employers know if they are or are planning to become pregnant during a job interview.
As far as I can see, it's not illegal to raise the issue during an interview, but the interviewee is under no obligation to answer and can't be discriminated against on those grounds, so I suspect it doesn't come up very often.

To be exact, in France, it's also illegal to "refuse a job to someone because they're pregnant or planning to be", but a candidate has no obligation to reveal if she's pregnant or if he/she wants kids.

Technically even in the US but I think there's always ways to get around it. They, of course, are never going to tell you that's why they chose not to hire you but that might have been the reason.
If you bring a suit, it can be difficult if not impossible to prove.
I am a POC and often in interviews when they see me and hear me, I can see it in their eyes. In the past, I have not gotten some jobs and they offer some reason about experience or skills or whatnot but I know what drove it. But difficult if not impossible to prove.
