I just came on to see if anyone else is waiting for their "Viridiana" from DVDPlanet. I guess I'm not alone. I've been excitedly waiting for this release more than any other Criterion this year, and now this happens. Fuckin weak.

and most stores (Best Buy, Borders, etc...) are not carrying Viridiana (borders' website even has it incorrectly listed as Virdiana, without the second i)

I got a shipping email for Viridiana this morning from DVD Planet so it shouldn't be much longer.

My Dazed and Confused was shipped today. I used priority mail, So I'm guessing sometimes around Wednesday or Thursday is when I'll receive it, consider the packages I've received via P.M. from DigitalEyes before.

Well, I am pretty ticked off. I preordered my Six Moral Tales back in June at DVDPlanet. I emailed them today asking why it still hasn't shipped. This was their lovely reply-

"Thank you for writing DVDPlanet!

We are sorry, we show the new release date for this item is 9/5/06. As soon as we receive this item in stock, we can ship this item to you. We are sorry for any confusion and inconvenience this has caused."

It will be interesting to hear if anybody who bought it at DVDPlanet got it? DVDEmpire, Amazon, and the rest are showing it as in stock
I got the same reply from DVDPlanet this morning. Men, and I was so close from ordering from Amazon.

I ordered my six moral tales a month ago from DVDplanet and I just called today to check on the status after seeing that is is available to ship from DVDEmpire. Planet says they haven't received the shipment yet and expect it any day (but have no guarantees). I cancelled that order and placed it with Empire instead. Too bad DigitalEyes excellent service didn't go along with that merger.

I won't beat yourself up about it too much... my order from Amazon has an estimated shipping date of August 20th, and I preordered in mid-July.

I quit using dvdplanet because they just suck like that now. The last thing I ordered from them was in stock and still took almost a month to get to me. I got my box today from dvdEmpire.

I dunno, I got the Simpsons set a day early (yesterday) and I used the economy free shipping, there's something to be said about that kind of good service.

Usually a day or two before Amazon ships, they take away the ability to cancel or modify an order, but they haven't yet. If you don't mind my asking, when did you place your order and what shipping method did you choose?

My Rohmer set shipped from Amazon on the 11th via the free shipping method. I ordered it the last day of July. It is at the post office in town according to the tracking. I hope they deliver it tomorrow.

Now I've got it being "prepared for shipping." Should only take a day or two (even with Free shipping) but I can't understand why it's taking so long to ship...
