The Parallax cover is very disappointing, especially for such a great film. This is a pretty common complaint, but it looks exactly like a fanmade fake cover. The only one I really like is Smooth Talk.

Smooth Talk is great, and I don’t mind The Parallax View at all, but the rest feel like effortless cut/paste jobs

I was referring primarily to the Bahranis, but yeah I don't really have an opinion on that one though I can see how one could like it.

I agree, I like MANDABI a lot also. CHOP SHOP has a real “this movie could be about almost anything” generic vibe to it though. Actually what it looks like is a major-studio poster where they know people won’t be interested if they knew what the movie is actually about, so they just throw some smiling faces up there and call it a day.

Yes, by Adam Maida whose behind most of their political thriller covers (Manchurian Candidate, State of Siege, Canoa, Confession, etc)

Couldn't disagree more, I honestly think it's up there with the best.

Minimalist covers usually are reductive & throwaway by and large, however I think this is an exception. One image encompassing so many themes of the film.
Spoiler
The psychological test
.
Spoiler
The final sequence.
And above all a general visual statement on a USA riddled with the hoary old 'military industrial complex.

It's a small work of genius.

Essential Fellini

It's slightly taller than the Bergman set and reminded me a lot of a vinyl/LaserDisc box set

Same here. Putting it next to my Bergman, Velvet Underground box set, and the 50th Anniversary of Sgt. Pepper. This set looks beautiful.

Tantalising photos of the Essential Fellini box!

Amazon has this as the product dimensions - 0.7 x 7.5 x 5.4 inches - obviously wrong; would you be able to give us an idea of the actual measurements, Chris?

On my Fellini set, the insert that houses the discs has scratches or some other imperfections. I e-mailed Mulvaney about it; hoping for a replacement insert.

Picked up my Fellini box yesterday and while I think the construction and layout is quite gorgeous, I really find myself liking the front less and less. The sort of director-cum-circus master idea is clever I guess but the front image looks childish to me and there’s a flatness to the design that fees inappropriately contemporary. I think the album cover inside of all the faces in an ever-so-slightly garish hue is much stronger, it’s busy and detailed in a fitting way and more worthy of a director whose individual works, especially Amarcord and La Dolce Vita, are some of the most striking in the collection.

I don't know. The design on the outer box reminds me of army camo, and I'm not sure that's the effect they were going for.

I don't like the box cover and roughly half of the individual ones at all.
