Good news for Jim Caviezel blu-ray completists, I guess. If such a thing exists. On the other hand, they may be disappointed it doesn't have the Criterion branding, when so many of his other 90s works are in the collection.

A great highlight in the film is when the chimp drives Matt LeBlanc home while he's shitface drunk. It's a masterpiece.Forrest Taft wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2020 8:05 pmGood news for Jim Caviezel blu-ray completists, I guess. If such a thing exists. I actually remember watching ED when I was a teenage projectionist and had to do a QC screening of the print. All I remember is LeBlanc’s super Tribbiani-esque reading of the line “I’m going to spank that monkey!”
No apologies for not putting that in spoiler tags, btw.

That Funny Feeling is a decent 60s sex comedy, though it seems like exactly the kinda thing KL would ask for rather than for Universal to put it out. Wish someone would upgrade Come September already though!

Re: Universal Catalog Titles on Blu
I liked this quite a bit, and although it never became a great sex comedy, it's consistently cute and there are a few gags that land very hard. The first bar scene of double entendre misinterpretations in particular uses a very old and tired device in the best possible way by taking it father than most films have the imagination or audacity to do. The scene surely must also be one of the longest versions of this joke, draining it of all ideas possible to think of in the writer's room, especially with the necessary wiggle room to test out some pretty risqué allusions!

I've only ever seen the original Shirley Temple version, how does this one compare? Is it any good?

6/29/21:
Mad About Music (1938)
Nice Girl? (1941)
That Certain Age (1938)
The Trail of the Lonesome Pine (1936)
Those three Durbin films were dropped from Kino releasing them due to lower than expected sales on their previous Durbin box.

What are the chances of Universal releasing individuals discs from that first Durbin Kino box? (Only interested in Three Smart Girls Grow Up.)

Re: Universal Catalog Titles on Blu
Pre-orders have appeared from a Norweigan retailer for UHD releases of the original Dracula, Invisible Man, Frankenstein, and Wolfman movies this fall, presumably to be released by Universal in all their relevant territories. Pretty cool! Was just thinking about Kino's UHD licenses how Frankenstein would be something they would pursue but I'm glad the studio is willing to keep some stuff like that for themselves.

Worth noting that the Spanish version of Dracula (1931) is reportedly also 4K HDR on the new UHD release

Re: Universal Catalog Titles on Blu
Some Bing Crosby films on 8/23/22
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (1949)
Here Is My Heart (1934)
Welcome Stranger (1947)
100 Men and a Girl (1937)
It Started with Eve (1941)
Three Smart Girls Grow Up (1939)
Thunder on the Hill (1951)
The three Durbin films were a box set that didn't sell well for Kino, which led to them trading back the other Durbin films they had licensed, which were then released in this individual style by Universal. Guess these were titles that were better sold individually.
Thunder on the Hill is in Kino's Film Noir: Dark Side of Cinema II set.

Thunder on the Hill is far from Sirk's best, but it's an interesting faith-based noir with a rare devout nun protagonist.

BR says that Sugarland Express is getting a 4K from Universal for its 50th anniversary. Hopefully they've treated it better than Duel!

Will they include Amblin’?
Edit: Out of interest Finch, what did you dislike about the Duel 4K which has a 4.75/5 review for PQ on Blu-Ray.com?
