Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Marker's birth with 50% off the Icarus releases of his films using the code
bonus points if you can guess it
CAT100
Sale goes through the end of the month. I highly recommend The Owl's Legacy and the Medvedkin double feature!

Is the blu-ray option listed on their site real? On a cursory search it's only listed as DVD on Amazon, blu-ray.com, etc. I can't find mention of a blu-ray in existence

Thanks for confirming- are their DVDs also DVD-Rs?

I think it's hit or miss, like their initial runs were pressed but you'll get a DVD-R if those have run out. Also, here is some good discussion of the Owl's Legacy Blu-ray, which is preferable to the DVD if only because it fixes a subtitle issue

Is anyone else having a problem purchasing more than one of these DVDs at a time? Every time I add one to my cart, the last one disappears, and going to checkout only allows me to purchase the last one added- However, if I go and add another copy of the one now-missing, it'll show up as me ordering two copies of it. So the site is recording my entries but splitting my carts in two or something

I was having a similar problem. I eventually got everything I wanted in the cart at the same time, but the code wouldn't apply to the On Strike! DVD, so I sent an email to ask about it and am waiting to hear back

I noticed that about On Strike last night as well. Just checked and the code is working for it now.

Nice, thanks for the tip. I was able to get the cart thing to work by hitting "continue shopping" before searching for each new item. Shipping was...not cheap, but the deal was still worth it

I've been trying the "continue shopping" thing from the beginning, and still no luck (I'm just trying to get The Owl's Legacy and A Grin Without a Cat)- honestly it looks like they may be cheaper on Amazon even without super expensive shipping, but I'd like to support the company if they could just fix whatever this error is

Thanks for the tip, Ian was incredibly helpful- we had to do it over the phone but he was super nice and flexible around logistics

No, but Ian said the guy who does the billing isn't in today and will be tomorrow so maybe that's why? He also said that he's accessible by email so I'm sure you can reach out with any questions. Very flexible guy and one of my better customer service experiences ever

Has anyone who ordered a Marker dvd received a shipping notice?

Nope- I also got the impression that it'd be slow to ship by the flexibility informally offered around the deal's time parameters during my phone call

My package arrived today; did not get a shipping notice. Shipped from a fulfillment center in Georgia, btw, not Brooklyn in case anyone is factoring in location to delivery time. (I'm in upstate NY.)

My shipment actually arrived on the 7th (to an old address, which is why I didn't know until now). The five titles I ordered all included pressed discs, though Le Joli Mai did not include the advertised booklet

Swift wrote: Fri Jun 15, 2018 9:26 pm Does anybody know who does the English narration on Letter from Siberia? A quick google seems to suggest that it's never been revealed/widely known.
Super belated answer, but the 1982 NYFF program notes credit the English voice actors as Catherine Le Couey and Henri Pichette. No idea if it's the same Henri Pichette as the author of Les Épiphanies, though I must say I very much enjoyed his performance and find it more effective than Georges Rouquier's, especially during the Yakutsk sequence. (I couldn't find any evidence that Pichette also did the English narration for Sunday in Peking, though the two voices certainly sound similar!)
