Love the movie, have always disliked the DVD cover. This is somewhat better.

It’s been some years since I watched the film, but can’t really see how it would relate thematically? I remember it mainly as a sci-fi adventure type deal with a

cosmologically philosophical trick ending?
The film has traditionally been viewed as a metaphor for the death of identity in the ‘50s so a faceless hanging victim is a good way to express that idea.

The leopard tail and leopard-patterned spine are great. My Best Packaging vote might go to it just for those. :P

I wonder if they will have alternate packaging for the UHD.

We’re definitely missing something for the Kane set (probably a fold-out in some way?), but I agree that it doesn’t really excite as is.

There's definitely a gimmick to the Kane packaging, but regardless it's sort of astonishing how awful it is.

Here I’m thinking don’t let it be a cartoonish cover. I would take that now

Imagine taking a film known for being one of the most visually interesting and influential films of all time, and honoring it by primarily putting a single letter of typeface on the cover

I get what they're going for with Citizen Kane, but it's still really bad. I wonder if they'll change it if the backlash is strong enough (a la The Tree of Life).

At least Once Upon a Time in China looks good. That "II" in Menance II Society bothers me, but maybe that was chosen in 1993 because there are two main characters (and two "menaces" to society?). I haven't seen the film yet, as you can probably tell.

I love how Kane is like the biggest solo release in recent memory and got the most low-effort cover in recent (and not so much) memory

The Kane cover looks like the "go back a chapter" button on a remote.

Anyone else just... not seeing the new titles? I see the "November Titles Announced" splash, but when I click it, I only see last month's titles. I can search for upgraded titles and they show up, but new titles do not...

Doh! Did the sort order reverse for everybody, or did I just click that at some point and forget about/not realize it?

Wow, The Citizen Kane cover is probably the worst cover they've done in at least five or six years--if not much longer. what a spectacular failure on that point.

the rest of the edition looks remarkable.

I find it stunning that neither MIIS or CK are getting DVD releases, considering both would be bought by libraries that have long since weeded earlier editions out. (thought it's probably more likely that CK doesn't get weeded because of its status, or still circulates enough that it doesn't get weeded).
