A few weeks ago I decided to order via Amazon UK since its the same edition and it's currently in stock. I think it ended up being only a dollar more than the Amazon US pre-order price after the shipping cost was added.

FWIW, I received a shipment notice from DeepDiscount last night at that same price point, so the “discontinued by the manufacturer” excuse is nonsense.

Glad I got in this time, but after having gone through the whole 'Apartment' mess with Amazon and wasting my Arrow store rewards points before watching Amazon reinstate that item, I feel like abandoning Arrow preorders altogether until the US distribution kinks are worked out. There has been confusion regarding multiple items at multiple retailers. Pre-orders are not guarantees of receiving anything, which is not how pre-orders are supposed to function. Placing orders at five different retailers in the hope that, several months later, one of those orders actually ships is ridiculous.
"I may have just placed an order for something!" isn't a game I enjoy playing.

I had preordered from Amazon, then got nervous reading about previous problems with Arrow preorders. So I preordered from DiabolikDVD as well. The DiabolikDVD order showed up on Feb 23rd so I cancelled the Amazon order. I paid a little more than if I'd gone with Amazon but I have it in my possession. Now I'm wondering about my Deep Red preorder from Amazon...

My Amazon order miraculously shipped and arrived safely. Taking a risk again with Deep Red.

I placed pre-order at WalMart for Deep Red and now just pre-ordered at Amazon. Hopefully one of them will ship. These Arrow Limited Editions make me go to the extreme - too much stress from cancelled orders for the last 3 Limited Editions...

Uh oh. The price of Deep Red dropped to $22.09 on Amazon. Guaranteed order/shipping issues to follow...

I got a mar. 12 update from amazon too. Sadly still paying 10+ dollars more than I should, but I’ll survive.

Is this a Ritrovata restoration? It's not yellowy, but is very murky with poor blacks and whites - https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?go=1&a=0 ... 34&i=4&l=0

It is but I don't think they did the grading with their usual LUT, since it bears no usual "marker" from their grading. However, sure enough, against the extremely over-contrasted BU disc, the Arrow one look less contrasted and murkier.

What's your take on Arrow's by itself?

I think it's very good, a vast upgrade over the previous master though it might be now a tad too dark.

The 4k looks magnificent, if a little “Criterion-dark.” If you know what I mean.
