I'm not Dave, but allow me to answer: German titles with optional French subs. Same goes for "Tagebuch einer Verlorenen", also included there, and seemingly the only version currently available with German titles. Redone from the censor cards, probably.
I agree about the disembodied sound, but the film itself is so livid with accidental strangeness, it feels very real to me-- I love all the location work & Mate throwing away all those nice shots he never lingers on. I can see why you'd regard it as unspectacular-- essentially it is. For me it's an accidentally lovely little slice of everyday Paris back in '30.
