Horror films are generally too easy of targets. But here's one I keep seeing around. Notice that Room 6 is actually Room 666. I get scared just typing that. [Btw, the synopsis on AMG made the film sound laughably bad]:

I hope the transfer is better than the cover…

If you remade that movie with Edward Norton, Josh Harnett, and Jamie Foxx, you wouldn't even need to change the cover art.

I was thinking Harry Shearer, Robert Ulrich, and O.J. Simpson, but your Dream Team might be easier to cast, Matt.

It's good to see two Oscar winners go straight to video.

They also added "Force" to the title, because things that have force sell better.

The Hades Factor cover looks very much like a cheap imitation of the Bourne Identity covers.

Certainly not a great cover...but worst? C'mon, this is about finding design atrocities.

For such a great film, that cover qualifies as awful.
When Room 6 or Stay Alive have poorly constructed photoshop mush, it's almost to be expected. Actually it's a plus because it helps you to avoid accidentally buying/renting such a crap film. Sort of "truth in cover art."

But a film like Open City deserves a little more thought and love. It's the discrepancy between the quality of a film and its dvd cover that is important in evualating that elusive quality of worstness.

Surprised to see these in here, what's the deal? We're just about to start designing the box for the boxset... any design comments would be greatly appreciated.

I actually like those Keaton covers - quite stylish.

Isn't that exactly what you'd expect the Police Squad cover to look like?

And those Keaton covers are the best in existence outside perhaps the MoC disc, but they didn't have to come up with a design concept for multiple releases. It's also not their fault that they have to put the ratings sticker and four logos on the front.

Might I remind you again of the Kino atrocities?

Kino covers are often quite bad. But if you made a worst DVD menus thread it would be dominated by Kino almost exclusively.

Hard to imagine a worse cover for this Renoir film:

A solid nominee for Worst Cover of 2006.

As a big fan of this particular picture I heartily second that, FilmFan; though I may still end up getting the DVD.
