Surprised to see these in here, what's the deal? We're just about to start designing the box for the boxset... any design comments would be greatly appreciated.
What I didn't like about them was the odd-colours - the luminous green and blue don't work for me. The complete absence of colour in Buster's face in two of them, and the wimpish look on the College disc. They just don't convey the real Buster to me. Just my personal preference, which is what I thought this thread was about. Having said that, I'm more interested in the content of the DVDs than the covers.
Is the box set going to include just these discs, or are you releasing all of the mk2s? If the latter, I'll buy them even if they just come in a brown paper bag.

Considering the image material you had to work with (I presume), I think the covers are ok (just).
The weakest is definitely Steamboat Bill Jr. The image is too indistinct and the added boat wheel is obviously just an afterthought. I agree with Rufus the colours are too raw, too 'pop', I can understand why you would choose them (shelf presence etc.) but they send the wrong message.
Anyway that's my 2 cents, you should note in the appalling history of Keaton covers, these are still one of the better incarnations.
Because the film demands such a careful, tasteful cover, right? For that movie, it's right on the money. I only hope that "The Wizard" lettering is foil-stamped.

Synopsis for part 3: "Jack the chimpanzee (MVP and MVP II) has given up hockey and skateboarding in favor of life with his family at the El Simian Nature Reserve, but a Mexican vacation gone awry lands Jack in Blackbrush, Colorado--right in the path of a lonely boy named Pete who's just moved into town. The two quickly become close friends, and eventually Pete teaches Jack to snowboard and they become partners in a snowboarding race..."
Funky Monkey, on the other hand... well, I'll leave it to this capable Amazon reviewer to outline the film's major problems:
Look at the box for this movie. Isn't that just the happiest monkey you've seen since Diddy Kong? Dispite being in a combat suit, he's happy, and waving towards the viewer. That's the monkey on the box. The monkey in the movie however, is a total jerk, and not funky in the slightest bit.
THE GENERAL
Based on real events in the Civil War, Buster Keaton's comic masterpiece is still regarded today as one of the greatest films ever made.
STEAMBOAT BILL JR
In STEAMBOAT BILL JR, visionary comedian Buster Keaton pioneered the art of physical comedy still used in modern filmmaking
THE THREE AGES
Tackling romance across the ages, Keaton compares courting in the stone age, Roman times and in the early 20th century.
COLLEGE
Showcasing his physical dexterity, Buster Keaton heads to college where he must use his skills on the field to win the heart of the beautiful Mary.
Now THATS a pretty bad cover. At least we know feet and aluminum-steel control-panel-suitcases... and a very very haggard looking Cybil (poor girl, o Betsy wherefore art thou?) play a part. Worst is the unattributed rip from BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN.. "if it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't haaaaave no luck at all..."
