Pushed back to July 1. Their social media cited production delays.

Re: Mikio Naruse Collection
Yeah, I probably shouldn't have pre-ordered the BFI Ozu, Chocolat, and Naruse all in one go. Oh well, they'll get here eventually.

Re: Mikio Naruse Collection
I already had to wait on the Naruse and another title because I bundled them with the Project A 4K which got delayed by 3 months. Never preordering 88 Films titles again, at least not as part of a larger order.

Re: Mikio Naruse Collection
I haven't gotten a delivery for my pre-orders yet, but it's worth noting that swo17's rec of Atomic Movie Store most resembles OrbitDVD's layout and only has a $50 threshold for shipping instead of requiring three items. I placed a few separate orders for just two titles from the same company each (Arrow, Imprint, Severin, etc.) coming out the same months as one another, just to ensure one item doesn't hold back the others on Orbit. Anyways, as long as they're consistently legit, I'm probably going to be using them more than Orbit going forward for that reason.

Re: Mikio Naruse Collection
I've successfully emailed Orbit before about removing an item from my order, although there were more than three items in that order

Re: Mikio Naruse Collection
It seems to depend on who you get at Orbit because sometimes they've edited my orders and at others, they've point blank refused.

I got the flat refusal last time I asked. I was going to have to wait for a late-June release anyway.

Re: Mikio Naruse Collection
Got my shipping notice from OrbitDVD so I guess those production delays weren't as long as expected (but I admit I'm more excited about the Radiance Vittorio De Seta 2-discer that's coming with it).

Re: Mikio Naruse Collection
Diabolik has this (the new BFI Floating Clouds Blu Ray) in stock for a mere $23.99 in the US. I just placed an order for it this morning.

OrbitDVD has it for $19.99 with no tax and free shipping if you buy three or more items

Perhaps I need to investigate Orbit's site. Diabolik has raised shipping to $6.99 for all orders.domino harvey wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 3:54 pm OrbitDVD has it for $19.99 with no tax and free shipping if you buy three or more items

Typically Orbit has the best prices if you qualify for free shipping - or AtomicMovieStore, though they don't sell a chunk of what Orbit does

Orbit is also the fastest shipper. Diabolik always takes a few days

I have literally never placed an order with Orbit without it immediately shipping first thing the next morning

Re: Mikio Naruse Collection
A quick Naruse bump, maybe there is a better thread to post this in. Carlotta released a (now OOP) non-English friendly BD set of 5 titles (Sound of the Mountain, Yearning, Woman Ascends the Stairs, Flowing, Two in the Shadow) back in 2018. Since then, we've gotten the BFI Floating Clouds BD, and a English friendly Yearning BD in Spain. Anybody roll the dice on this Spanish disc? I am not familiar with the film.
EDIT: Yearning apparently is a MOD BD-R. Still, if you can get it cheap there might be a chance it has an acceptable transfer and includes english subs.

Re: Mikio Naruse Collection
It's probably a rip of the Carlotta since that sort of thing is legal in Spain. Good chance they've added english subs though.Zot! wrote: Thu May 29, 2025 2:09 pm A quick Naruse bump, maybe there is a better thread to post this in.
