The site crashed when I submitted my order, and now it's in a weird limbo of "open." Never experienced an 'uncompleted' order that I can't do anything with, hopefully it goes through eventually..

Got my order of Winchester 73 4K + Last Hurrah for Chivalry BD + The Wages of Fear 4K + The Grifters 4K + Blow Out 4K in okay but it was a painful slow 8 minutes loading multiple screens.

Same thing here. I had 22 items in my cart. It seems to have crashed during the order placement, but shows up as an order of 15 items, but with the grand total for 22 items. I emailed them.

I'm getting a weird response I've never gotten before. I have a new coupon for being a channel subscriber, and I have a friend who shared their new channel subscriber coupon with me as they weren't going to use it, the site is giving me an error if I try to use both coupons:
A Gift Certificate from this promotion has already been added.
.

So the coupon codes they send out to people seem to be limited to a specific promotion and only one per customer? Anyone else having a similar situation? Is this new?

A few seconds can actually make a difference during the opening rush. I got distracted for like five seconds to address something, and that was enough to put my order in limbo too as I didn't check out in time before the site crashed. So I kept refreshing until I got the last window again and hit "check out" which took a while to complete. There was no order confirmation, but if you're able to go to your account's order history, it should come up. (I haven't gotten any email confirmations, but I'm guessing if it's listed in your account history, it went through.) EDIT: Email confirmation finally came through.

And yes, the shipping option has a glitch - I think this isn't the first time either, but just select the cheapest shipping and it'll show up as free in the total. (If you look at the running totals on the right hand side, it'll stay say "FREE" even though none of the shipping options will display this.)

I don't know if this is usual, but everything from my order still shows up in the cart. I know the order went through - it's been confirmed - but FYI if you're going back to place a second order, you may have to clear out your cart.

I have $70 worth of gift cards ($10 each). Can these be used all at once or only one per order?

I managed to get my first order in, still waiting for a proper confirmation and for my Loyalty Points to be processed.

Also, if you're having issues with your cart "emptying", be sure to double check your cart before pressing submit order because in my case they magically reappeared and I almost ordered 3 copies of A Woman in Paris.

You should be able to use all of the coupons at once. This seems to be the first sale that has had expiry dates on the coupons, so good to spend them all while you can.

I was on the cusp of getting a gift certificate so I was impatient about my points updating too, but I got an email about ten minutes after placing my order with the updated points / gift card code

And they emailed back already. They cancelled the order, and I placed it again. All confirmed now. Whew!

Does an “open order” mean it isn’t confirmed yet? Haven’t received an email about it yet

Mine was just confirmed - I'd wait on it. I also emailed them and they got back to me fast

I believe mine said open order before I got my email confirmation. It now says closed though the status is just “preparing for shipping”

Lots of crashes during my order (Noon EST to about 12:14 p.m.) but was able to click the back arrow each time to return to where I left off. Everything eventually went through. I've never had this many issues trying to place an order right at the start of a flash sale before. Are Criterion's flash sales significantly more popular these days or does the website just need some maintenance?

For the past couple years, I've been getting two emails (with different codes) every time Criterion sends me a $10 promotion. This could be because I've cancelled my channel subscription and reactivated it a few times.

I think this check ("A Gift Certificate from this promotion has already been added.") is to prevent me and others who are experiencing the same glitch from stacking all of them in the same order. I have been able to go back and apply the second code from a given promotion to subsequent orders after I use the first code. And that, I assume, is why Criterion just started using expiration dates as well.

But to answer your question, TBickle, if the codes are all from different promotions (ie if the emails they came from were sent on different dates), they should all stack correctly.

Thanks for this, I started a new order and it now lets me use the additional coupon codes.

I placed a second order with a different card shortly after the original order and the confirmation email took 20 minutes this time but both orders went through okay. The second order actually hit the threshold to unlock a new $50 certificate but the free shipping threshold only becomes available at $75 plus there is the sales tax (PA in my case), so I'll save the certificate for the sale in October/November.

Roger, I seem to recall that there may have been slight hiccups last time they had this sale, but not on this scale.

Are Criterion Channel subscribers the only ones getting a coupon? I've bought direct the last two or three years and never gotten one.

I received one $10 coupon for being a Channel subscriber, and one $10 coupon for being a loyal Criterion store shopper. I'm not sure what the threshold is to be considered loyal, but I've been getting them even only shopping twice per year at flash sales.
