Re: The Dollars Trilogy
Orbit uploaded pics of their orders for this on facebook, and wrote this was by far their biggest pre-orders. By the look of it, they received at least 900 copies of TGTBTHU (though it might be mixed BDs and UHDs) (30 boxes of 30 copies).
I certainly won't be one to point out about import/export, as I myself imported Arrow's UHD to France, but it looks like a lot of copies for a reseller to sell in a territory where the label doesn't have the rights to sell it.

Let's be real, there's probably less than 10 retailers in the UK even stocking it nowadays. Overseas sales are such a big part for any sensible boutique label.
I got mine from HMV on eBay, but my order on Amazon UK is yet to be honoured.

I have a copy I ordered from Rarewaves super late but I didn't get a shipping notice...I may order an Orbit copy just to ensure I actually get it, plus I trust Orbit way more. if the Rarewaves copy comes, I will probably sell it on here at list price to an actual active forum poster who maybe missed out. no scalping

My old skills from many instances of Ticketmaster frustration in my youth are still cooking. Also: Thank god for the HDR sticker - made it easy to spot them the moment Orbit refreshed the site. Got all three. Funny to me that For a Few Dollars More... is indeed a few dollars more.
Crazy how fast they sold out. Under a minute?

I was thinking of Ticketmaster too when I was punching this in. it's great knowing Orbit does this much business - I know they're super successful in general but this was honestly great to seemfunk9786 wrote: Wed Aug 13, 2025 4:02 pm My old skills from many instances of Ticketmaster frustration in my youth are still cooking. Re: The Dollars Trilogy
Seems like a decent number of people over on the Blu-ray.com forum have issues with them for their inflexibility (not changing or cancelling preorders after the fact, not shipping in the order that preorders came in, etc) but I prefer knowing exactly what I'm getting from a retailer to needing to come up with constant pendulum swings between shipping policies and updating customers on new titles. They always come through for me, have never had even the most delicate thing damaged (even when they were fulfilling orders during the storm in Asheville last year), so they'll continue to get my business until/unless that changes.
EDIT: My order already shipped. 30 minute turn-around time. Love to see it.

No shipment on my order yet, but I had hoped to see Fistful offered when I ordered GBU but I guess I either I was too early, or misread what was listed for it at around 12:01 or it was already gone by then. Well at least maybe GBU will ship…
(edit …which it did, took about 2 1/2 hours for them this time)

FWIW, I pre-ordered from Arrow directly when it was announced and received my copy a couple of weeks ago. So they're landing.

They’re sold out of everything but GBU on Blu, to save anyone a click

Alright, I know LE fomo is the driving force in the home video marketplace these days but am I missing something that's exclusive to these that's worth the fuss when the SEs are already avaialble for pre-order and only lose the books, tat, and a doc that's about some superfans at least as much as it is the movie itself?

Re: The Dollars Trilogy
It’s a stupid situation where one of the three SEs is out with the others coming in a month, and stock issues going on surrounding these titles. So I could wait (at least) a month to have uniform SEs, or get the LEs now… which were really hard to find due to two of them already being long gone and OOP. Just couldn’t have dealt with spines/editions that didn’t match, which is my problem.senseabove wrote: Wed Aug 13, 2025 7:27 pm Alright, I know LE fomo is the driving force in the home video marketplace these days but am I missing something that's exclusive to these that's worth the fuss when the SEs are already avaialble for pre-order and only lose the books, tat, and a doc that's about some superfans at least as much as it is the movie itself?
I think the release date fluctuations were the biggest disruptors here, all LEs and SEs should have dropped on the same date. Then I don’t think you’d see this kind of hype cycle.

Re: The Dollars Trilogy
I have posted many times on here about my affinity for Orbit, especially being in my home state. they have always been great to work with and Marc really won me over with the whole controversy with The Keep. my order also already shipped which is usually the norm, but I figured would take longer today. guess not!mfunk9786 wrote: Wed Aug 13, 2025 4:17 pm Seems like a decent number of people over on the Blu-ray.com forum have issues with them for their inflexibility (not changing or cancelling preorders after the fact, not shipping in the order that preorders came in, etc) but I prefer knowing exactly what I'm getting from a retailer to needing to come up with constant pendulum swings between shipping policies and updating customers on new titles. I find booklets essential to any release and will always go the LE route for that alone. that said, I didn't get to preorder these (lots of money stuff going on in my life) so I was able to buy the first two separately when they came in stock. it would be beyond bothersome/OCD for me to not finish the set toosenseabove wrote: Wed Aug 13, 2025 7:27 pm Alright, I know LE fomo is the driving force in the home video marketplace these days but am I missing something that's exclusive to these that's worth the fuss when the SEs are already avaialble for pre-order and only lose the books, tat, and a doc that's about some superfans at least as much as it is the movie itself?
the doc does actually seem very interesting. unlike The Great Escape II I will probably watch it

Especially in this case where the spine art is connected across three releases.mfunk9786 wrote: Wed Aug 13, 2025 7:42 pmJust couldn’t have dealt with spines/editions that didn’t match
Totally different from having to buy four copies of the same Taylor Swift album to complete a picture

yep. plus we know Arrow absolutely would've released these as a box with a hardbound book (ala the Bruce Lee and Moodysson sets) had it not been for the rightsholderswo17 wrote: Wed Aug 13, 2025 8:02 pmEspecially in this case where the spine art is connected across three releases.mfunk9786 wrote: Wed Aug 13, 2025 7:42 pmJust couldn’t have dealt with spines/editions that didn’t match

Yup sign me up for the Orbit fanclub. Them Asheville folks are the real deal. Though Atomic are pretty competitive with their prices and only require $50 for free shipping.

I ordered TGTBATU Limited Edition from Amazon UK about a month ago - it was the only place I could find it available. But it hasn't shipped yet.
I ordered For a Few Dollars More Limited Edition a few months ago from Rarewaves, and got a shipping notice. It never arrived. I queried it about a month and a half after the release date, and they immediately refunded my money. I feel there's something dodgy going on there. I've had similar experiences with them for other orders over recent years - they just never arrive in Australia, and they are always quick to refund.

Re: The Dollars Trilogy
I placed an order for all 3 from Amazon Uk in April. I had another order also to my PO Box show as not deliverable and credited back to my card despite not even knowing that it it shipped. I became worried about TGTBTU (my favorite of the 3), so I placed a second order after the preorder window closed to my home address. I received the first 2 UHDs from my preorder in a timely manner. TGTBTU from that order shows arriving Aug 22, but there's no shipping info for it. The second order actually has a track package button and when you click on it it doesn't show that it's been packed yet, but it also says arriving Aug 22. Probably should have tried a different retailer for the backup, guess we'll see if I at least get one.bugsy_pal wrote: Thu Aug 14, 2025 6:15 am I ordered TGTBATU Limited Edition from Amazon UK about a month ago - it was the only place I could find it available. Re: The Dollars Trilogy
I ordered all three from Amazon UK. A few days after the official release date of A Fistful of Dollars, they cancelled my order with no explanation. So I cancelled the other two myself and ordered directly from Arrow - and thankfully all three turned up on or near release date.
