What?
This ad ran in last night's MLB playoff game. And I was just pointing out the similarity that Canada gets a Criterion sale when the US doesn't.

Interesting, I thought it was a done deal. I also decided early this morning before going to bed to just take a pass and go B&N again, even if I have an expiring coupon. I know what I'm getting when I pick it out myself. And no 10% restocking fee when I do a return.

selfishly this is cool for me as I get paid tomorrow but truly, if this gets pushed to next week there's really no point in having it. I could see the AWS issue definitely having repercussions here

if they have it tomorrow or Thursday we'd be cooking though. wasn't it on a Thursday one year?

2014 (also the first year the fall sale was in October, thanks to the Eraserhead disc issue).

I thought it was more recent & I thought it happened more often. Over a decade ago? Time flies as you get older.

There may have also been a more recent one; fall 2014 is just the one I remember.

The Unobstructed View sale is 50% off, whereas I think it’s normally only 35% or 40% off? I usually order direct from Criterion with coupons, but UV is actually a really good deal now.

Got one too. Site traffic is probably going to be terrible at noon so I'll wait till the afternoon.

I got a $10 thanks-for-subscribing code last week (I think it it prompted a few to speculate sale might come last week) & today I received the "loyal shopper" $10 coupon that expires in April with the announcement to set my clock for noon tomorrow. It seems that we can no longer stock our shopping cart in advance as items disappear from the cart when not purchased. Has anyone tried an hour or 2 before?

Didn’t get any code or e-mail. :(

Is it noon Eastern time that it starts?

Sale's on and as expected, site slowed down more and more then crashed altogether. It looks like it's up and running again and improving in speed.

For a minute though, the website held up well enough that i wondered if enough people figured out how to check out fast enough that it would actually reduce the server load. For example, if enough people set things up before noon, you wouldn't have to spend too much time checking out, save maybe final approval.

Anyway, everything's well-stocked so it's probably easier to just wait it out unless you're after a brand-new release.

I don't know if this is new, but it wouldn't let me stack multiple codes of the same 'type'. For example, it allowed me to stack the code I got randomly plus a Channel Subscriber code, but not two Channel Subscriber codes

Yeah, it felt a little different this time around.

Got 4 films. It took about 7 minutes. Initially got a failed screen that I haven’t seen before when I hit submit. I went back into orders and it was there with a confirmation number.
