I've just discovered the IMCDb: The Internet Movie Cars Database. It provides screenshots and identification of cars appearing in movies. I found it trying to identify the model of the Cadillac in Drugstore Cowboy (a powder-blue 1965 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special Brougham). I did not expect to see every other vehicle that appears in the movie identified as well!

Can anyone recommend a reasonable workflow and resources for doing my personal record of films that I have watched/missed by year? Basically I want to work backwards from the year 2000 and build up a yearly top~50. My typical interests being arthouse and world cinema dramas...so I'm typically doing things like doing a survey of, for example, Iranian New Wave....but I wind up working my way into a corner by focusing too strictly. Is there someplace that aggregates festival submissions per year for for instance? I appreciate your suggestions.

Wikipedia is pretty good for seeing comprehensive submissions for individual festivals (example: Cannes 1989, Berlin 1979, Venice 1969). And for keeping track and ranking and personal stats, Letterboxd with a Pro subscription? You can probably also find lists of festival entries there since people on that site LOVE to make lists (example: Cannes 1989, Berlin 1979).

Yes, thank you both for the suggestions....I think this will help me get started. I was thinking that most at least "semi-prestige" films would get entered into some kind of festival, so a world-wide festival line-up per year aggregator was my first thought. Doesn't seem like this readily exists, so I'll try the other suggestions. I don't use Letterboxd, but I will now explore that as well. My whole problem was that I was trying to stay away from pre-ranked lists, so I don't overly prejudice myself. Which brings me to:

Can you tell me where YOU sourced the films these yearly list choices? Because otherwise, this is exactly what I'm looking for.

Well, I think you've probably done a much better job then I could ever hope to manage. Much appreciate your efforts here, it sounds about as comprehensive as one is likely to find. I wouldn't have guessed that what I was looking for was already on criterionforum.org. I've not participated in the voting over the years (even if I read some of the resultant rankings), so I overlooked this resource completely.
