Honestly, I'd go for the Z-A set when it receives another price drop. The BTS stuff in that set is so addictive and the material that's exclusive to this set doesn't have the annoying faux-Werner Herzog narration which is on the main documentaries from the original Season 3 set. Then you get the interview with Kyle and Sheryl although McKenna's questions to Sheryl include some cringeworthy stuff (quite how McKenna got to do the Room to Dream autobiography when Chris Rodley was so much better at this is puzzling; pity he never got to interview Lynch about Inland Empire as a final addition to his book). Plus you get the Pilot (and part 8) in 4K although I have to say I found the upgrade more notable on the Pilot.

thanks, Finch. Can I then dispense with my Entire Mystery box?

The reviews of the repackaged Z to A suggest stacked discs are a nightmare to deal with. If I get the Limited Event Series set, am I missing the BTS and other features (and the 4k)?

You would miss out on the additional BTS segments that are about 20-30 mins for each episode of Season 3, Kyle & Sheryl interview, something with Kimmy Robertson and Harry Goaz plus the 4K content. Maybe something else but by and large that covers it. Z-A carries over everything that was already on the Complete Mystery and Season 3 sets.

The stacked disc packaging is shit but so was the Complete Mystery set with the glue getting onto the discs.

sounds like Z to A is, as you said, the way to go. Can the BTS stuff be watched with each episode (or are there spoilers)? I've seen The Return, but am rewatching with someone who hasn't.

For anyone on the fence, other than the shitty packaging this is a treasure trove, and absolutely gets you everything as good as it exists other than the Criterion FWWM 4K. But to think that somebody today could get literally everything Twin Peaks related curated at this level for <$70 is reason to live, and really previously unthinkable.

Crazily, that's only a modest drop from Amazon's highest price of $55 over the last 90 days, far less expensive than the original set. (Obviously the stripped-down, no-frills, polypropylene packaging stacking all the discs reduces the overall costs.)

I still remember when the S1 DVD (that didn’t even include the pilot) was out of print and selling for hundreds of dollars.

In a strange twist, it is verily the golden age of Twin Peaks, I saw they were selling some hideous licensed t-shirt at Zara. Now all that is outstanding is to bring back into print the handsome, but fairly dispensable Mark Frost Secret History of Twin Peaks book (cross promotion for The Return), and I think we're all set. Oh there was also some Japan only laserdisc of b-roll footage of locations set to music from the original show that they never reissued, and I never did chase up all the bonus soundtrack material they released....but I can still die happy.

The scene in episode 4 of The Return after Gordon and Albert see Mr. C in the prison and are speaking quietly outside. That scene is unnaturally blue on the Blu-ray version. I don't remember it looking this way when I first watched the series. Is this the way it's supposed to look?

OK, thanks for the confirmation. "Blue rose" scene, I guess.
