I was able to stack three $10 codes, presumably at least two of one type

Was able to apply $140 in saved credits from the last 4 years to get the Edward Yang double bill and Wes Anderson sets for $167.23 with shipping

Darn it, I accidentally ordered two of one title. Doh! No amending an order after the fact. It was a glitch, too. The title didn't appear in my cart, so I added it again. Then there were two, but I didn't notice until later. I guess I could send it back, but then I've got to pay return shipping.

That nearly happened to me as well, but I doubled checked to be sure this wouldn't happen. Maybe a glitch?

Happened to me in a Kino sale. Items added in a previous session crept up at last moment before confirming my order. They did agree to refund me upon receiving the returned order but I ended up paying hefty shipping cost that negates the saving from that sale. Damn these web sites!

I would suggest exchanging at B&N in their upcoming sale to avoid shipping costs, but I think you need a B&N receipt that isn't too old in order to make exchanges. (I vaguely remember when it was common for retail stores to do exchanges with no receipt as long as the item was brand-new and unopened.)

Depending on the title, you can hang on and resell it on Ebay if/when stock runs out on Amazon or Criterion store for a profit. Fortunately I learned my lesson on an Amazon order which was easily returned. I always make sure to check the address & the number before hitting the send button now.

I filled my cart just after midnight and when I went to buy between 12 & 1 all titles were still in my cart, so I guess this still works, provided it's the same day & you don't logout of your account. Doing this made placing an order much easier, given the freezes on the website, I would not have been able to place an order so easily on my break.

The coupon function seems to work a bit differently. I had already loaded all previous coupons as has been suggested here and they became visible upon the last stage, selecting payment. You click on the coupons you want to use and the selected coupons get a green border & then you push "apply coupons" which then adds only those selected coupons to your order. I almost used only one of my coupons because it wasn't clear you can select multiple coupons at once. The one problem with this is that you can't see the expiration dates & since I knew I had at least one expiring soon I just chose all (10+10+25+50) for $95 off to make sure I didn't lose one, no issues with stacking.

One other oddity is that you have to select shipping method (though there's only one choice) which shows a charge (despite the total qualifying for free shipping), this does infact disappear upon the final payment page.

I know this is entirely intentional, but it's very irritating that 3 UHDs add up to $74.91, just 9 cents under the free shipping threshold.

It's too bad they don't sell inexpensive items that could put you over the top. I've done that with music vendors in order to get free shipping where I'll grab some plastic sleeves or something like that because I know I'll need them eventually.

They do have a bunch of doodads for sale (such as this 3" long replica of the mobile Criterion closet) but it looks like the cheapest they come is $25, and of course they aren't 50% off either

A 10-pack of postcards or a handful of stickers for $5 would be a cool and reasonable thing for them to offer. But they know idiots like me are like "welp, better buy another disc to get over that 9 cent threshold!"

exactly why I ended up not doing an order. plus I didn't have any credits expiring this sale. since we're so close to the B&N sale and I rack up tons of rewards there, figured I'd save my $50 and the two March-expiring codes along with a future one to get the Wes Anderson box in the next flash sale

For what it’s worth, I think if you order a certain amount they ship Priority rather than Ground/media. Order for 16 individual titles placed Tuesday afternoon and I received them on Monday.

When B&N stopped the coupons, I started getting all my Criterions directly from the store and just place an order 2x/year.

Barnes and Noble similarly offer an excellent rewards program (I am a premium member, which I do pay for but it pays for itself for me) that I've found just as rewarding as the Criterion one. B&N no longer let us get the member 10% or stack coupons, sure, but they do give us opportunities to get stamps and rewards pretty often

not to mention I enjoy going in store and finding the right copy

I'm with Lowy_Sam, I switched to just ordering twice a year from Criterion once B&N peeled back their discounts. I also used to enjoy going into the B&N store, but the one near me with the largest in store collection has now pared it down to just one shelf. Which takes away a lot of the fun.

So, Criterion Store it is.

Same here. I figured that my money would go further in supporting CC if I bought from them directly. I did enjoy shopping at a local B&N during their Criterion sales, but the store was closed down a couple of years ago. I still occasionally place orders at the B&N sale online if I can't wait to get my hands on a particular release, and the CC flash sale is months away.

Nice! Also, 30% off until 22nd Dec. For a second I thought the clue drawings are back... I guess it's that time of a year again.

Got that, too! What are the chances of a 50% off flash sale before then?

The winter/spring flash sale has fallen in both February and March before, but I'm guessing that this next one will be February 24 since that's the release day for Network and The Man Who Wasn't There

I think you need to wait to see what gets announced Monday to make that declaration. What if there is a box set of some kind

What is the background on the Criterion.com homepage advertising the holiday sale? The deer in snow, what film is it from?
