I admire the design aesthetics of the case, but between the DVD height/overall heft, lousy looking paintings they use for the covers, and difficulty of reading the booklet, they're more of a nuisance than a success.

I was going to say I have never sprung for VS’s limited editions because the slipcases for the ones I wanted were terrible.

Also Shanghai Blues from Film Movement. Are we expecting any other label to put this out soon?

Came here to post exactly that - also the Jude getting a blu-ray release is huge even if it comes barebones

still contemplating whether Shanghai Blues or Bad Luck Banging are coming from UK labels soon or not. I know Radiance tried for the latter, and I wouldn't be shocked to see Eureka release the former. in all, some cool announcements for sure

Their print runs are bizarre. 1000 copies only for the Jude? That’s going to sell out within a day

But they almost always restock standard editions.. unless this is a case where they won't. I never know the deal there

I think only the LE is limited to 1000 units, and the standard edition will be restocked once it runs out/available on retail sites

Body of Evidence if you want to watch Madonna stand around and blink a lot. (I sort of like this movie.)

Nice to know that there is going to be an English friendly edition of Shanghai Blues but surely someone in the UK will cover it too.

40th Anniversary 4K of RAD coming later this year. I guess this one will be super-duper deluxe.

Considering cinématographe have released underseen indies like Female Perversions and The Woman Chaser, I’d love to see them released Cory McAbee’s The American Astronaut.

Radley Metzger's The Private Afternoons of Pamela Mann supposedly will be coming from the Mélusine mainline later this year, which I assume means it'll be 4K.

A racing certainty, I’d have thought, and excellent news, as that’s always been one of my favourite Metzgers. It’s one of the best examples of a film that’s simultaneously trying to deliver what its audience was primarily expecting while still being witty and self-aware enough to have genuine fun with the form, at a time before the more artistically ambitious porn practitioners became jaded.

I’m thinking particularly of the woman who wanders in and out of scenes with a clipboard asking various probing questions, and when challenged later on she says that she was put in the film in order to add a sociological dimension, which I suspect was a conscious bit of mockery of Roger Corman’s very successful method of appealing to grindhouse and college audiences simultaneously.

When I wrote it up in the early 2010s, I remember saying something to the effect that it has a really remarkable number of unexpected eleventh-hour plot twists, given that most porn films don’t even bother with one.

Turns out it may not be Badge 373. From User MovieBuff647:
Looks like it may be THE OUTFIT actually! https://www.instagram.com/p/DVREjVajbtb/
Mifunefan responded with this:
Oh wow, this is an interesting situation. So, I don't want to reveal how I found out about Badge 373, but I'm pretty sure it's coming too. But not CIN-031 though it seems, unless they're somehow doing a Duvall Double-feature

Yes please, love THE OUTFIT. Walter Hill, a good friend of writer/director John Flynn, actually did some uncredited work on the script.

Yes, Vinegar Syndrome confirmed they have a WB deal but some new comments have confirmed that it is more than likely Badge 373 so I apologize for causing some confusion.

They have a deal for around 40 Warner Brothers titles. Don't Be Afraid of the Dark is the first one they've released.
