Stefan, do you know where I can access archival materials around Soviet films, specifically archival reviews of them since there doesn’t seem to be many good resources cataloguing them that I could find?

Hi, I googled this and found these Russian-language sites, which may be of help, though they seem to mix recent both non-Russian and Russian films:

https://www.kino-teatr.ru/kino/art/pr/
https://www.film.ru/topic/review

I googled using these phrases from Google Translate:
рецензии на фильмы русские фильмы (movie reviews Russian movies)
рецензии на советские фильмы (movie reviews Soviet films)

English-language sites:
https://cinefiles.bampfa.berkeley.edu/? ... viet+Union
https://cinefiles.bampfa.berkeley.edu/? ... eration%29
These pages usually have reviews, festival reports, articles and other texts.

Searches for Russian and Soviet Union movies on ImdB turn up these examples of external reviews and metacritic reviews:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096841/ex ... at_op_exrv (Asthenic Syndrome)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0024402/ex ... at_op_exrv (Outskirts, Barnet)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072443/ex ... at_op_exrv (Mirror, Tarkovsky)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072443/cr ... _at_op_crv (Mirror, Tarkovsky)
User reviews on ImdB are accessible via personal login (recent change, used to be freely accessible)

Hope this helps!
