Great news! Tamasa is going to release several Ettore Scola's films, several Luigi Comencini, that funny Steno's movie with Bardot as Poppaea, and Abasso la misseria with Magnani. About Tamasa, Amazon never has got stock, and I mean, never, but Fnac they do, and they send in 24 hours. Orders sent from France are quite fast, but from UK is a real nightmare.

Studio Canal will be release De Santis' No Peace Under the Olive Tree

I've got it, sadly the subtitles were with colors changing for the actors, if I don not remember bad.

We should have a thread where we talk about when the French language is strange and is a foreign language even to the French themselves... because of their accent. North, Calais, pherhaps Lille :?: , Quebec. Quebec is totally incomprehensible.

90s slang invers talking like La haine

Arte is currently playing five Chabrolswith optional English (and other) subs, at least in the UK - could be geo-blocked elsewhere. They are also appearing on Arte's YouTube channel.

How did Criterion never even upgrade this one to blu-ray?

10 restored Youssef Chahine films will be shown at the 2026 Rochelle film festival. Tamasa Films have co-credit.

Tamasa has released all films on dvd and bluray except Alexandrie, encore et toujours (1990), L’Émigré (1994) and L’Autre (1999); might bluray releases be planned?

Update (web browser translation) re; La Ragazza di Bube:
"Compared to the 2007 DVD edition, the most indispensable added value /.../ is the presence of the original version, especially since La Ragazza is one of the first films in which Claudia Cardinale post-synchronizes herself /..../.

Regarding the French dubbing (Claudia Cardinale and Marc Michel dubbing themselves) /.../ on two occasions that the switch to the original version was made, the version offered being a complete version, which included sequences in the editing that were not in the French version and had therefore never been dubbed."
