I didn't have a problem with the 4K transfers - curious to hear what was underwhelming about them if any care to share. Admittedly, I was comparing them against the 25th Anniversary Blu-Ray set, which was always waxy and generally unappealing. (And count me among those who appreciates 3 even more with time.)

First film played at my hometown theater, first time seeing something there in 23 years. Also my first time watching it on the big screen. I can’t think of a better movie to have returned to a place so imperative to my imagination, and for the first time as originally intended in full theatrical exhibition.

I wonder why Lea Thompson didn’t become more of a name afterwards. She’s someone I could easily see having a second wind of importance on screen again.

I watched it when it was on, it was fine— not as good as Just Shoot Me, better than Veronica’s Closet on the NBC mid 90s sitcoms lost to time ranking. She’s a version of the author of Cathy. The blonde guy with glasses was the best part

She followed up Back to the Future with a string of flops, Howard the Duck being one of the most ridiculed movies of the era. And nothing else she did, showed she could open a movie, which still mattered then. She slipped down the cast list into supporting roles, till she had a comeback with her sitcom.

I've recently rewatched the Back to the Future movies and I always forget that I don't really enjoy them much. I can't even put my finger on it, as they are obviously quite clever but they feel too lightweight and the comedy is to broad for my taste. Maybe I'm the one person who would have preferred Eric Stoltz starring in them. Of the three, I like the last the best. Mary Steenburgen brings maturity and warmth to her role and the focus on her and Doc makes this one feel less like a kids movie.
