George Feltenstein on The Extras podcast re: Letty Lynton:

"of course we are preparing the film for Blu-ray. And probably on another episode of The Extras, in not that long a period of time, we'll be able to talk about when it's coming out. /.../ it is a uh a 4K scan off our best preservation elements. This is one of the hundreds of MGM nitrate negatives that burnt in that fire in 1978, but happily MGM did make preservation elements, and that's what we're working from. I've seen it, and it looks terrific, and it sounds amazing for a film from 1932."

“Of course”? Since when is any WA title a given, especially since they have magnificently avoided releasing at least two thirds of the stuff they put out on pressed DVDs, much less the DVD-R Archive titles and even much less titles they haven’t released at all

They’re… still announcing titles. Now George Stevens: A Filmmaker’s Journey on UHD including new bonus interviews with Scorsese, Nolan, and Del Toro

That's a random choice for a 4k lol, it has less than 1,000 ratings on IMDB.

What's even odder about this is that this is was picked up by Janus a while back. Either the theatrical and home video rights were separate or WB licensed this from Janus. Either way, truly an odd choice for a 4K release over all the other titles that they have released.

Film reviewers and industry professionals have had a Zoom meeting with George Feltenstein.

Relevant quotes from Ronald Epstein, who participated in the meeting:

"someone had asked why Warner Archive titles lack a wealth of extras. George responded that this all falls into budgetary considerations. Another person asked why older commentary tracks are not ported over to new releases, and George responded that up until recently, there was no preservation of the material in the way that they are being done now. /.../ the Archive program continues to be quite successful, with revenue up 60% over last year. 125 titles have been signed off for future release"

"/Feltenstein´s/ mission is to continue making sure that every Blu-ray release lives up to its standards of being pristine. /.../ with a smile, he noted that he reads the feedback and realizes he can't make everyone happy. When collectors complain there weren't enough movies from a particular era released, the archive listened and released more titles only to find another group of collectors complaining their favorite era wasn't represented. George doubled down that they are trying their best to please everyone and that choices are being made based on the condition of the film elements and restoration costs."

Yes, The Extras podcast went into some detail about it, though George Feltstein said he could've gone on for much longer about it.

I just discovered A Little Romance, a charming romantic youth pic with a young Diane Lane and Laurence Olivier stealing scenes as a quirky old man the couple befriends. Thelonious Bernard is fantastic as the French love interest of Lane, and gives the film an exciting twist of attitude that disrupts the humdrum qualities of the rom-com genre. It's no Jeremy, but it's probably the film that's come closest to being as authentic, funny, and warm. Recommended

Surprised this didn’t go to Arrow or any other boutique. I think this is another movie QT’s been talking up lately. It’s a one joke movie and I’m not convinced that there’s more than a prurient lust behind many fans’ admiration of it, because it’s a bad taste Playboy party joke told over and over and yet some people really want it to be a subversive satire to explain away its discomforting ideology
