This series is really one of the most remarkable documentary projects I've ever seen. I'm ambivalent about it being carried on after Michael Apted passed, but I look forward to catching up with "the children" one last time and seeing what they're up to.

Apted would definitely have approved. He's on record saying that and those who have worked with him have said he would've been happy to see the series carried forward, at least to bring some closure. I think I posted this before but by random luck I found myself talking to him and when he told me his name, my immediate response was, "you made the 7 Up films! I love those!" He was over the moon that I had seen them and left the impression that he was proudest of that work more than anything else. (We didn't even talk about anything else.)

Ideally we'll get a nice HD set of the entire series now that it's wrapping with 70 Up.

I really wish that 7 Up in America had continued beyond the second installment. I was the exact same age as that batch, and it was well-made
