French Connection might not be ready.

Remember there was a Criterion Dog Day Afternoon tease which seemed like a year ago. A pic of dogs in the Criterion office. What happened with this release or will it be down the road? Maybe Criterion doesn't have the rights not sure.

Dog Day Afternoon is Sydney Lumet and WB so maybe that'll be their WB title for November if not The Devils. But they already had 12 Angry Men this year and The Wizard (Was that this year? I think it was) so maybe not three from the same director in a single year?

There definitely seems to be a backlog of rumored major studio releases, though I imagine Warner or Disney/Fox don't mind Criterion release delays of titles for which they still have blu-ray stock.

The Wiz was released last year. Speaking of The Devils, considering how hard WB has been promoting their new restoration, I feel like they would release it themselves, either through WAC or just from WB.

Wouldn't be surprised if the 2027 big box is Scorsese & perhaps only one more individual release before then.

I think the backlog is probably why we got Warner Archive UHDs of Out Of The Past and Auntie Mame rather than Criterion, but Criterion had been working with Ken before he passed to get it released so it still might come from Criterion.

That’s been my thought for a while now, however if Warner were willing to give Criterion Citizen Kane on its 80th birthday and the Kubrick titles for a career boxset, knowing those are some of their biggest titles, it would be odd for this one to be off limits.
