I can’t say I love or even like the WILD AT HEART cover. Is it based off a poster?

It is: "New cover by Fred Davis, based on the original theatrical poster"

Nonetheless, it's not a particularly good poster and I think the fire imagery for the insert tray holder would have made a better outer cover... and a better match for Criterion's Blue Velvet cover.

It is possible that they contractually had to feature the actors.

The cover would look a lot better if they'd kept the original background.

The true heads have the Twilight Time edition on their shelf . It actually uses the same alternate shot as the Criterion.

Looks like the photo on the Criterion cover was also used for some European posters.

All of Criterion's Lynch releases except Blue Velvet use some variation of existing poster art for the covers and I'd assumed this was down to his preferences—I can't imagine it was Criterion's idea to reuse the Inland Empire U.S. poster art. I doubt this cover was designed so long ago that Lynch signed off on it before he died, given that he didn't approve the transfer either, but maybe the estate laid down some requirements based on what they think Lynch would've wanted.

The Criterion producer(s) probably broached the subject with him before he passed knowing eventually CC would get to release it

absolutely in love with the Marie Antoinette and K-Pop Demon Hunters packages. note how Tori Huynh subtly elevates the Marie cover with the "cutout" style on the wacky C and uses both the bold pink font and cursive together pretty seamlessly. a great cover, and I don't remember seeing that image of Dunst before. striking and makes up for Criterion's below average cover for The Virgin Suicides. I hope Huynh comes back for the inevitable Lost in Translation release

K-Pop Demon Hunters is just such a fun package. I like that Criterion is trying a little bit more with this kinda thing (I thought of Flow's package when I saw it) and am in favor of them adding sticker sheets and postcards and whatnot, it makes this stuff fun and goes along well with the fandom that this film taps into.

I am very, very grateful Criterion is releasing Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors and feel bad complaining about it but that cover really annoys me. especially because A Brighter Summer Day, Manila in the Claws of Light, etc were also WCF films but they got great covers. and Parajanov is more than worthy of a spectacular cover - Criterion and Second Sight both gave us great efforts for The Color of Pomegranates, so I'm a bit miffed by the mailed in effort here. alas. hopefully the inside is nice
