Is Jarmusch's Stranger Than Paradise OOP? If so, why is that?

Stranger Than Paradise didn't come to my mind until very recently and I'm now wanting to see it again. I used to love this film so very much back in my teen days.

Yep, several months ago.

Probably the rights expired for MGM/Sony and now Jarmusch holds them.

DVD Beaver compared the R1 MGM and the R2 Arthaus editions.

The audio on the MGM is a disaster, apparently.

Tartan are finally releasing the film in the UK in October.

It's not hard to find. I rented a mint copy from Blockbuster's mail-in rental two months ago.

My local video store had a disc only of the MGM for $0.99, so I bought it.

The R4 Madman 'Director's Suite' releases for Jarmush are of excellent quality. Stranger Than Paradise is still readily available over here, CHECK IT.

Good. I sure hope he allows Criterion to put this out in the near future. This is my favorite Jarmusch film and would be an excellent release for Criterion.

especially with all of the recent 'indie' fare that they've been releasing.

Criterion did release this on laserdisc years ago and the print on it was pretty good with alot of extras! Maybe Criterion can get back the rights.
