Not a guess, you can see comparisons on youtube if curious...the opening has had very slightly altered (I dare say inconsequential) edit for some time now, compared to the theatrical...probably the byproduct of a restoration somewhere along the way, and it was never caught. Strictly for obsessives, but then I suppose that is why we are here.Adam X wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2026 10:54 am I assumed beamish was referring to one of the extras mentioned in the previous post. Had no idea the film itself was altered. Or is that just you hazarding a guess?

While I hope for films in general to not be altered during a restoration or for a home video release, I can’t say I’m obsessive enough to notice most things like this. Even when it comes to one of my favourite directors, there’s just not enough time in a day

Re: Arrow Announcements, Speculation & Wild, Irresponsible Conjecture
Halloween confirmed by a postcard someone got in their copy of The Monster Squad 4K.
Whether it's the first film only or at least a box set of 1-5 remains to be seen, but worth noting a) other High Fliers titles have recently been announced by Arrow (Blue Velvet, Trick or Treat) meaning 2&3 may well happen too, and b) Arrow currently have streaming rights for 4&5, as well as the original film. Some have speculated this might not be until 2028, for the original film's 50th Anniversary, but either way it will be upcoming.
The remaining sequels are likely with Paramount (one or two possibly Lionsgate); Paramount recently announced H20 on 4K in the UK so that's likely out of the question. Both the Rob Zombie and David Gordon Green reboots are with Universal, so not sure if Arrow could twist their arm with those or not (seems they've not licensed much from Universal in recent years).

Hope they've finally worked out the logistics of packaging it in a pumpkin
