I got Playtime from DVDPlanet today (ordered on the eighth), but I always use UPS with them (second day air is cheap with that company.)oldsheperd wrote:There's been somewhat of slight delay on the Playtime discs.

I think you're correct; after e-mailing Criterion DVD about the delay, they informed me that a shipment of Playtime discs expected to arrive last week was lost, necessitating a re-order.oldsheperd wrote:There's been somewhat of slight delay on the Playtime discs. Not as far as release date is concerned, but I think there was a little delay in distribution. At lease that's something akin to what DvdPlanet told me. Already got my 7 Sam and Amarcord yesterday with my Gojira and Pretty Poison. Came by way of UPS which I found strange for DVDPlanet.
However, I've seen been informed as of a few hours after their reply that my order has shipped.

I requested both the missing Brazil booklet and the Rohmer packaging. They were requested on the same day, but arrived several days apart. All e'mails sent to Criterion on the subject remained unanswered, but the items arrived eventually.
I appreciate the corrective actions they have taken. However, I believe answering customer mail is a mark of quality, and is a reasonable expectation from a company of this stature. I do not know what happened to Mulvaney, but all mail sent to the box that still bears his name remains unanswered (at least for me).

I put an order in for Seven Samurai this time last week and it still hasn't shipped. It didn't read as out of print then and still doesn't. My order status still says ships in 24-48 hrs. I sent them an email on thurs or friday. Has anyone else had this kind of trouble with planet? I've been hearing all these complaints about new releases but assumed I'd still be safe to order something that had been out this long.
Hmm, called over there today and she said somehow my order got "stuck". There must be some lost order limbo. Odd. After I asked they uprgraded me to priority.

just got today "Clean Shaven" which I ordered - as always - on DVDPacific.
Problem : no booklet inside; no postcard.
Is the booklet downloadable as .pdf files just like the soundtrack is on mp3 ?
I'm not kidding, there's no booklet.
Is it a "known" problem of Criterion "Clean Shaven" ?
How can I solve it ? Should I contact first DVDPacific (I live in France) and explain the problem; or should I deal directly with Criterion so that they can ship to me the missing booklet ? If yes, what email addy should I contact ?
It's the very first time that thing like that happens (I have almost 100 Criterion DVDs). DVD is okay and amaray case was sealed; consequently I suspect a manufacture problem...

I emailed the person who handled my Rohmer replacement box, and she forwarded my inquiry about the missing Clean, Shaven booklet to Mulvaney. That was two weeks ago (also before the official street date).
Last week, I picked up a copy of the Brazil box set. Unfortunately, it was one that was shipped without a booklet. So I emailed the address on the site in regards to the Brazil booklet and the Clean, Shaven one. Still no response nor booklets.
I'm just assuming Criterion was waiting to see if the Clean, Shaven situation was an isolated incident at the store I purchased it at, or if it was indeed a distribution-wide problem. I'm expecting something to show up on their website soon.
However, the website says that Brazil booklets would ship "immediately," so I'm not sure what the deal with that is.
So, um, yeah, I'm concerned. I'd like to blame Image for these mess-ups. Does anyone know if any Image discs are having these troubles? Say, for example, Yanni Live! or Extreme Chickfights?

Pretty quiet in this thread lately. Anybody still waiting for their Rohmer box?
I send an email in September as well as another in early October to the address given on the website. Never heard a thing. As soon as I saw that the announcement had been taken off the website I sent an email "directly" to Mr. M. That was Friday the 20th. On Monday the 23rd I got a response from Angie Bucknell stating a box would be put in the mail that week. And lo/behold I received it today!
So, if you're still waiting try sending an email to my new best friend Angie Bucknell:
