How's the Naruse box coming along, Nick? I didn't notice any delays at etailer sites, so can we still expect it around thanksgiving/late Nov?

We have a website y'know! :) -- I did a news update about the release dates for Keaton and Naruse.

Naruse is currently scheduled for November 27th. All being well.

I hope there will not be further delays for Vol 1, it's on my X-mas list!

Yes -- I also wonder why Amazon UK gives a different date for this release than MOC does.

That last entry was posted in September.

By all accounts, December 4 appears to be the official street date.

I can't wait for these to finally arrive so that we can stop talking about the packaging.

I pre-ordered 2 copies! I hope it is still on track for next week, as one is a birthday present to myself, and the other a bday present for a friend.

Like the Keaton set, this has been a bit of a logistical toughie. The 184-page book is done, the box is done, the sleeves are done, the discs are about to be pressed at the factory but there's a fault with one of them and this holds *everything* up. It's looking like it might be delayed another week... which is very frustrating as there's nothing we can do about it apart from apologise... sorry.

How about giving us all copies of the Keaton set to hold us over while we wait.

I don't mind waiting. Much better, IMO, than having to return a faulty disc.

As long as it makes it here in time to make all the 'Best DVD's of 2006' lists, hence increasing sales and increasing the likelihood of Volume 2, we'll all be happy...

Sadly it hasn't made it to my list this year, but since I don't bother with release dates it will probably get onto my list next year! I'm just about to get it ordered!

It's all done, and we're expecting finished stock tomorrow (Wed, 6th). It'll take about a week to get into offshore distribution (ie. Jersey), but I think Bensonsworld will be shipping out immediately.

Seriously, when is this likely to ship from Amazon?

I don't know, I'm not Amazon, but Jersey-based etailers should be receiving stock early next week.

I hope it's soon... I had this on order with the Keaton box, and they've split them up, so they might not be assuming they'll get it overseas by Christmas I guess...

Yes, I would say it would ship from play.com (and other Jersey retailers) around Wed/Thu, because once it arrives with them it always takes nearly 48 hours to ship with their funereal warehouse delays (I had a DVD take 4 days to ship the other week). Normally, this would mean arrival next Saturday, but with Christmas post it probably means the Mon or Tue after. That means I'll still get it for Christmas, but anyone ordering from the US might well struggle to get it for Xmas. Which is very sad indeed, as I know a lot of people stateside are waiting for this. We just have to be patient.

I had my copy of this coupled with Satantango and now that the release date of the Naruse has arrived the Tarr DVD is sent out sans Naruse box. C'mon, they could've sent Satantango weeks ago. The Naruse is showing as shipping 3-4 weeks, which I hope is a mistake.

A bit disconcerting, I would have hoped you knew when one of the largest (and one which seems often used by forum members outside of the UK) etailers will get stock in. I guess I have to learn be patient still.

I know that peerpee doesn't work for amazon, but it would be nice to know if they ought to have received stock by now--perhaps based on past releases or something. It's true, it would be great to know this would be here by Xmas.

Not too helpful, but I understand the furstration, obviously no distributor has seen sight of this set yet. Certainly this weekend is now impossible and we can only hope for a Xmas release. Those in the US, well, the words "belated gift" come to mind.

It's certainly most disappointing, we can only hope future boxsets don't meet with the delays this and the Keaton have.
