Not to get anything started or anything, but Satyajit Ray is listed as a director on Criterion's website.

The Music Room should be announced tomorrow, so I can see that.

Of course and while we're at it lets throw on "Tarzan and Jane Regained... Sort of" just for shits and giggles.

Does the Monica Vitta newspaper snippet on facebook mean anything perhaps, either a L'Avventura blu ray or an addition of La Notte to the collection, or both?

Ryan at Criterion Cast is selfishly having his first kid or something tonight so it's doubtful we'll get any clues about tomorrow's announcements from him. Harumph.

It's actually a hint that Il mistero di Oberwald will be announced tomorrow, along with the Gorin set and Out 1. :-$

I've never seen a company split between BD and DVD rights either, but it's not inconceivable. The rights owners treat them as different media rights, I'll bet. And Kino's DVD came about before Blu became the Hi Def standard.

Or this is actually an elaborate clue for Out 1.

He posted a picture of Edith Scob in Eyes Without a Face on Twitter about fifteen minutes ago, we can hope there's something to it.

May your first child be a healthy child and all of that typical nonsense. Good luck with your end of that bargain.

Thanks for all the well wishes. We still have a few more days, but things are getting down to the wire. That message on Twitter was more of a general warning, that I'll probably have my hands full and won't be quite as active on the blog, and I'll be taking some time off of the podcast.

As far as tomorrow's announcements, I probably won't be posting any trailers tonight.

We'll see if people like these announcements without the trailers. So many folks complain about the spoilery nature of my trailer posting.

Here are my guesses (really, they are guesses, not me trying to spoil anything. Seriously):

Cul-de-sac

Naked (Blu-ray)

Carlos

Beauty and the Beast (Blu-ray)

clearly there's going to be a Satyajit Ray film

Umbrellas of Cherbourg

The Killing

Demy? Ray? Yes.

Btw, do you know what the baby is yet (boy or girl)?

Congrats, Ryan. Kids rule.

If your predictions are true, that's one hell of a month. Umbrellas of Cherbourg would be an incredibly nice surprise. Any chance of The Young Girls of Rochefort as well? Does Varda run Demy's estate?
