Crimen Ferpecto is finally getting a Region 1 release via Tartan as
The Perfect Crime. It seems like most of the Spanish DVD's extras are being ported over.
Now we just need decent releases of
Day of the Beast and
Acción Mutante...

Is that a typo I see on the quote of the NY Times? INGLESIA? I don't know what is worst: NY Times mispelling the director's name or Tartan using that quote as part of the cover art. I guess i must be glad that this film is finally being released on Region 1 and don't have to import.

Tartan Video USA will be releasing The Perfect Crime on 13th March. This Spanish film is about a department store employee called Rafael, he's expected to be promoted to manager but co-worker Don Antonio is promoted instead. Don Antonio then disappears and Rafael becomes a primary suspect with admirer - Lourdes - being the only other employee that knows the truth. Rafael is forced to marry Lourdes but has other plans that involve the perfect crime. The DVD will be presented in Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 6.1 tracks, with English subtitles. Special features include a director's commentary, making-of featurette and a selection of trailers.

I was really excited to find this thread; De la Iglesia is one of my favorite directors right now. I recently ordered a grey market R1 Day of the Beast off of eBay, I was expecting a bootleg but not a DVDR, which was what I got. I was hoping for a direct rip of the Spanish SE version, but this one is a hardsubbed version of this transfer. It's nice enough that I'll probably rent it out in the store I work at and buy the R2 version for myself.
Addendum: the bootleg was of surprisingly good quality, albeit with some nasty PAL to NTSC artifacts and a very quiet soundtrack. It's nicer than some of the other grey market DVDs we have at the store (the Jorodowsky films, The Devils, Black Cat White Cat, Salo).
