Haha, that rush for Best Pic was like writing a long winding love letter and then getting to the end of the page and rushing to actually fit in what you were bothering to say.

Re: Awards Season 2009
To me, since Fantastic Mr. Fox or The Informant! weren't nominated, The Hurt Locker was the best of the best picture nominees, so I'm more than a little satisfied with that. But I'm still pretty exhausted by what a crappy show it was.

Right now James Cameron is looking over at 48 year old Suzy Amis and thinking, "Man, I really fucked up..."Jeff wrote:Can you believe she's 58?HistoryProf wrote:KB is pretty damned hot. definitely the hottest Best Director ever. No offense Marty.

And now, thankfully, we can put the terrible noughties to rest. Here's hoping the American cinema fares better this decade.

Monique just said "Aks" in her Q&A backstage. Truly oscar worthy.

On the bright side, the Academy has now gone four straight years without awarding Best Picture to the worst of the nominees. That's got to count for something.

I'm intrigued. In fact the nominations for Foreign Language are a great deal more leftfield than they were for the Baftas; you would expect it to be the other way around? I really expected A Prophet to walk it. The one big surprise of the evening.HistoryProf wrote:anyone seen The Secret in Their Eyes? should it have even been in the final five let alone win?
